Paramilitary variations

#1

Post by Sithus1966 »

I picked up a second Paramilitary last week. I wasn't expecting to win the auction, but I did. Once it arrived some things struck me as odd. At first I thought they might be modifications until I later saw similar things on another one up for auction.

First thing I noticed was the jimping on the top, much larger. Next I noticed the clip screws were philips head and not torx. Then the choil jimping was no existent. Anyone else have one like this? The "oddball" is on the left in all the pictures.

I believe that the giant thumb ramp jimping is affectionately referred to as "dinosaur" jimping.

It's an old school para, My Para 1 I bought 4 years ago from old stock was the same, found out after some research that the first gen para's were like this, IMO, I like the jimping just as much and it works just as well as the new jimping, it just doesn't look as good.
