Same here. I'll be pissed if mine shows up all chewed up like that.
You should never have to ask yourself "do i really need another knife?" The answer is obvious...

If it does, it's going straight to an exchange site.

It probably just looks much worse in the pic than it really is. I'll find out soon though.

But who wants to buy a flawed knife? I paid $ 263.90 with shipping. I even asked knifeworks to inspect the knife before shipping. It is not the first time i'm pissed after buying a limited sprint. My para 2 and manix 2 had flaws, too. Always the expensive ones were imperfect.

Maybe, but the jimping is not working nonetheless.

You could always take a dremel to it and make it more functional.
If you're not gonna actually use it, then what difference does it make?

Isn't backwards jimping the new tacticool thing?
Gives you more thumb pressure for slashing maneuveres.

Sprint runs are desired. I'm sure someone would want to take it off of my hands. This is all theoretical of course.

black wrote:I received mine today and i'm not satisfied at all. The jimping looks like crap but that is not all. IT IS GOING IN THE WRONG DIRECTION!!! So it's useless! But i guess it's "within specs". Unfortunately that means NO MORE SPYDERCO SPRINT RUNS FOR ME cause every single sprint run knife i got had flaws.

YOU MUST BE FREAKING JOKING? knife looks fine, quit nit picking and use the knife! Im sure it wont affect the functional parts of the knife, like the blade :)

It's not flawed, it's a production knife.

If you want perfect then you need to get in touch with one of the top Custom makers..... Then wait forever and pay one heck of a lot more than that $263.90, that $263 would be the tip. ;)

Seriously? I am right up there with being a Spydie Fanboy and even I say "black" is not over reacting. Looking at the second and fourth picture, it almost seems like the jimping was flattened. When I get my Millie and if it looks the same I will be upset.

I wouldnt call "black" having the only lemon as it seems many other members are reporting the same with their Millies. Sure, it doesnt bother many and it is what it is, but to others I think they have every right to complain.

I dont agree. If Spyderco can make a Tenacious thats pretty much flawless and have it sell for 30 bucks, then you have to think for a knife thats being sold for 200+ your going to get a 99.9% perfect specimen.

Not in a production knife you aren't. ;)

There is no 99.9% perfect production knife at any price.

Yeah really I could go at any knife with my 105mm Macro Lens and blow up the photos and find all kinds of things if I really wanted to.

But I don't. ;)

I had a look at the jimping on my Manix 2 Carpenter Sprint, it's very sharp, crisp and uiniform. Also the BM mini grip that in my pocket, both of which cost far less.

Maybe you SHOULD get out your macro and do a comparison, I think you'd find that the OP has a legitimate concern.

I'd be happy to post some macro shots if you have any doubt to the validity of my claims.

This seems to always happen on dealer exclusives and sprints.

How does that saying go about satisfying people some of the time...

Those that purchased sprints and exclusives in the past already know you're not going to get a perfect, custom quality knife that has a much higher price tag than what you're buying.

Then, there is always the group of noobs that think otherwise.
