the multicam looked excellent and it would be expensive to do no doubt. i wouldn't buy one but wouldn't fault anyone for doing so. it would probably be an investment.

i wouldn't pay money for any persistence though, and buying a stock persistence certainly wouldn't be an investment

If anyone saw SHOT 2012 vids from mr nutn, you can't help but laugh and vomit at his SOG booth review where the very weasel like rep "chris" I think basically tries to laugh off all the comments nutn makes about stealing spydercos designs and using awful materials and nutn actually continues the whole interview with great enthusiasm and makes it sound like he's still the biggest fan ever of the products. Me guess is the company is sending him free sh*tty knives in return for some air time. Seems like companies have caught on and it's a reason he only had a handful of knife reviews for the entire year last year.

Not just free knives, they probably pay him a **** load of money for air time. With that said, he still asks people to donate money for his dogs surgery, can't believe that guy!

Seems to be a good investment if this sale thread(tenacious) I saw on an exchange sells.

Second is a limited edition nutnfancy knife, #XX/50. Brand new with the collection card signed, lanyard etc. 250 gift or add 3%.

I wonder if there's a formula for how well known and liked a person becomes compared to how many people think that person is a joke. Entertainers like Brittany Spears or Justin Bieber seem to have a large following as we are punished with their images and lousy music every where yet I don't know anyone who doesn't think that they are a joke. Nutnfancy has a large following yet most of the comments I've read about him on different forums show that most people think he's a joke. Now I'm not comparing him to BS or JB, I'm just saying the bigger you get, the more people dislike you. To me Nutn has some good reviews. I've watched lots of his videos in the past but they are a bit long and I can only take hearing "dude" so many times. I neither dislike or love Nutnfancy. I just don't watch his vids very often now a days. Like anyone who has gained success through honest hard work, I am happy for his. I don't understand why people get jealous with successful people but such is the world.

But would I buy that awful looking Persistence? No way. Not at any price. I like mine the way it comes.

I see him as a well-intentioned enthusiast with sometimes too much enthusiasm.

I love Mustang's and have had 5 of them. Loud, fun and fast. They got me into sports cars (and cars in general). I don't think I'll ever have another just because your tastes change. Still, that doesn't lessen the car or those who drive them.

I bought a Cento3 years ago because of Nutn and love it. Later doing some reading and thinking I realized some things he said were undesputed while others simple opinions. I don't rush to watch his vids but still do if he's covering an interesting product. Non-knives are easier to watch for the horrid metaphor above :p .

I'm not a Nutnfancy fan, or a Nutnfancy hater (after all, I'm sure many of us benefit from him every time we have a knife shipped to us for free :) ).

IMO, he gets a lot of things right. His videos show clear images of the item from all angles, including in-hand, and often compared to similar products. He has an organized system of talking points to (theoretically) keep things on track and consistent. He does usually test the item, and he reports weaknesses when noted (unlike some reviewers with advertisers to please). He does have many useful insights into the products he reviews.

BUT... he's just a little over the top. Clownish at times, frequently going off on unnecessary tangents and wasting camera time. I know he's trying to make the videos fun, adding whip noises, "dudes" and occasionally launching into defensive, yet self-aggrandizing rants about his methods. He has strong opinions on certain aspects of products (some of which I don't agree with), but he's certainly entitled to that. Overall, I find his reviews useful, as long as it's an item I'm truly considering purchasing. If I'm not so interested, I just turn it off.

I believe Nutnfancy serves a need and a purpose, and helps a lot of people make better informed decisions. I don't really care what his intentions or compensations are. If people enjoy his special edition knives, I'm happy for them.

Personally, if it weren't for stumbling onto a Nutnfancy video, I might not have bought a Tenacious on a whim. That Tenacious started my whole Spyderco journey. So, I thank Nutnfancy for that at least.

Well, I can't remember how long it has been since his Tenacious "master piece", but here it is for sale, and check out the price. Lol.

People buy it, so I guess he has fans, which means he does something right.

I can't believe that anyone would purchase anything "modded" by him.

Then again, some people really like poop, and no I don't mean "poop" as a keyword for something else. I mean people like poop.

He thinks skateboard tape gives a blade much needed jimping that's missing. Like I'm really gonna want to sand off the tip of my thumb during hard use.

Duracoating something is not hard. I won't do it, but if the price of his mods stays high; people will counterfeit them. I duracoat an entire recurve bow (including prep time) in less than an hour. And that's doing a one-off-job, I could cut the average time down if I had to do 10 bows that are all the same.

America....freedom to watch or follow who you choose. Funny how the haters find so much time to write about him. You don't like him, why waste your time? Just don't watch. No, I did not buy a NF persistence. I watch some of his reviews as I do lots of reviewers. I take what I want from them, never watching the whole video, and I move on. I don't hate any of them, they are who they are. No one is pointing a gun at anyone's head, and there are more than plenty of others doing the same thing as him. As for the duracoated knife, who cares? If I bought one I would get on here and admit it. Why wouldn't I? Some here might be scared of what others think of them. Life is too short for that ****! I personally think people pay too much for lots of things in the market place. So frigging what? Their money, right? Unless you are a parasite of the gov't, but that's a whole other thread. I think paying $100 plus for a pen is insane, but that's my opinion and should never influence someone's decision. Capitalism at it's finest.

I can't understand why making a joke or laughing about something automatically makes you a "hater" I don't have any beef with the Nutn. I have seen several of his vids. I get some good info. I also think it's important to have a sense of humor. Nobody is perfect. We can all share a laugh once and a while. I laugh at myself constantly when I say or do something dumb. Keep it light and fun.

For a laugh.
