Benchmade sent out a private email over the weekend to all it's employees, dealers and distributors announcing that it is shuting down efective today. I recieved the update from my local B&M.
All warranty issues will be handled through an arbitration board and current stock and parts were seized late Friday afternoon to be held for such issues.
The email further states that Benchmade may rebuild over the summer and a new company will be launched only using only female employees. The letter stated that 80% of the production at Benchmade was produced by females and the men working there just simply did not work. They played with the knives all day and nothing was done and production went down over the last few months to near zero on all teams who had more than 50% men on them.
So look for the new company to launch in 6 months with an all new name, BITCHMADE!
If you got this far and did not realize this is April 1st well SMILE someone had to do this and it may as well be me. I pull this same joke every year and people still fall for it!
No offense to ladies!

V-Wolf,
Missed the headline.... I was too busy reading about the beached whale in San Diego harbor. All efforts to rescue the poor cetacean failed and the animal died after being stranded for nearly 24-hours. Marine biologists from Scripts Institute in La Jolla were called in to advise on the best way to dispose of the carcass and during their examination of tissue samples they discovered the whale had the first known case of aids in a marine mammal. The marine scientists are baffled as to how the disease, already suspected to be trans-species in nature due to the discovery of simian aids in african rhesus monkeys in 1987, spread to the large mammal. They suspect he may have been rear-ended by a ferry in the harbor.
Man! I haven't told that one in a while and looking back at it, I can see why. Again with apologies to the fair gender out yonder, that was a good one, VW! I'll know enough to look out for it next year....makes me wonder if Jerry and the fair Jennifer were having a bad day when he started Busse ComBat Knives. (Good folks! Great knives BTW) Keep smilin'...... RKDA

transistor> I've been over in BFC for just over 2 yrs. Feb 01... so this is year #3 of seeing the same joke.
as far as I know, there haven't been any problems with members being offended on BFC. Figured the users could get a laugh out of it too.
