I've had my backorder in at CS since 11/25/11. I just missed out on the first batch. :(

But, I'm fortunate to have several dozen other knives to play with until it arrives, so I can wait.

I have wanted one of these for a long time....and I keep missing out anytime one pops up here and there...usually because when they do come out of hiding, my funds aren't there. I'm still quite interested in it though. So hopefully I can just make myself wait until they actually become more widely available...whenever that may be!

It's part of a conspiracy... While waiting for my yojimbo 2, I bought a Gayle Bradley and a Para 2 and a used delica. Evil, evil plot :D
-Vinny

The things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most. People are good; honor, courage, virtue mean everything; power and money mean nothing; good always triumphs over evil; true love never dies. A man should believe in those things, because they are worth believing in.

I don't know if I'm happy or depressed to see that others have been waiting as long... I really regret not spending the $20 premium to get the Yo2 from a Canadian seller when he sent me an e-mail back in December...

jossta wrote:Yeah, I've lost interest in a lot of knives that way. I don't sweat it though, more money for other stuff I haven't lost interest in. I figure if I lose interest, I probably didn't need it.

I agree that it's frustrating though, but I prefer this to the alternative or not having as many models in the lineup or not making them in Golden.
Agreed jossta, I love the overall Spyderco lineup and everything about Spyderco and all of the great people there and on this forum. That's why we all spend all of the dollars that we do on knives that honestly we don't need. Other than the collectability point, there is no need to have as many knives as many of us do, it doesn't make sense. (Don't tell my wife I said that, that's not what I tell her)

I can tell myself that I am going to slow down a bit and not get any more for a while and then a new model or two pops up and then a sprint and then that long awaited one final is getting close and then someone puts a picture up of a model that you hadn't even thought about. It's a mess man.

Its hard for someone like me, I am a fast buyer. I take a notion that I want something, I go to the store and I buy it, done deal. I am using it that day. For me it's usually tools, boots, hiking shoes, gun stuff, scented candles (wait did I just say that). It does make it hard to play the pre-order or second batch game. But its all good.

I just lost a close friend of mine, so any day that I am around to share life with my wife and boy is a great day. Take care all.

I think it's a wonderful "problem" for Spyderco to have, with demand outstripping production capacity sometimes. It sure beats the alternative, product sitting unmoved on shelves and idle factories :) . I too had other knives on my mind when this one first appeared, and I missed out, but it's not like there aren't any other decent knives to play with in the meantime :) . I have bought too many nice ones recently, now I need more pockets to fit them all into rotation!
Which Knife, A or B? get Both! (and C, D and E) :)

I was asked by Sal at SHOT where I got mine, as they were trying to keep up with demand. I guess patience is needed for now...
