byrd Robin 1 was a saber hollow ground blade with bidirectional feather texture. The byrd Robin 2 has a full flat ground blade with three dimensional fish scale traction and cross hatched jimping according to the website.

That's my favorite of the Byrd line. I own several and am very happy with them. Excellent bang for the buck.

Right Jay! My collection is sprinkled with Bryds - I buy one now and then to try out the size before spending the big sheckels in getting a "real" Spydie", and found that I like them very much. I carried an older model Finch for a couple months before I found an early CE Ladybug at a gun show (for $15.00!), which is my work EDC for now. I've got the Robin2, Meadowlark2 and CaraCara2, all in G-10. The CaraCara is very hefty and solid - and a great deal for under $30.00 (if you like a big knife) and looks pretty classy to boot!
