I still prefer the Stretch, but I like the PM2 as well. I like the way you can close it using your middle finger on the release and forefinger on the spine.

first impressions:
-it's more substantial and heavier than i thought. it's a very burly knife.
-the compression lock is pretty versatile, which I love; i can operate like a mid-back-lock (which i find myself doing reflexively) or with index finger + wrist flip. pretty cool. kinda hurts my index finger; i assume i'll get used to it or i'll break in. absolutely no wiggle, it is totally solid in lockup.
-it's amazingly sharp out of the box
-g10 is weird stuff; feels almost fabric-like; i like it, but it will definitely shred pockets more than FRN. obviously though, this will be more of my casual carry / outdoor carry, and not my dress-up or in-surgical-scrubs carry.

overall i'm pleased. much different from my pacific salt, so it will take some getting used to, but i like it so far. i have a feeling it will grow on me some more. my orange ffg delica arrives on friday hopefully, which will be more familiar to me, and more of a daily-to-work carry, but i think i definitely see a niche that this para2 will fill for me. i will post more thoughts later on, but i'm sure it'll be preaching to the choir : )

I'm guessing if you open the blade and hold it spine up, then release the lock, the blade drops? Mine is tight; it stays absolutely put. So much so that if I let go of the lock release at that point, it's still engaged.

LOL, after reading this, I just HAD to go check mine :D !! Mine dropped smoothly, swinging down and almost right up into the handle. I've only had it a few days, and after checking for flaws or damage, I give all my knives a healthy shot of Rem-Oil into the action, and I haven't played with the pivot-point,at all. It's perfectly tight in lock-up. As suggested above, you might wanna tweak your pivot screws.

I'm surprised by your impressions ( not meant as a criticism or argument), but I felt the exact opposite. While I was also quite happy with it, right out of the box, I was quite surprised at how light and nimble it was, especially for it's size, almost to the point of it feeling "frail" ( but to be fair, I had been watching TV in the evenings, while flicking my Manix2 open and closed ;) ).

No, I don't like it this way. But the last time I messed with a pivot screw was on a Tenacious, and every tiny little turn made the blade move off-center, and then for some reason I couldn't center it to save my life. I'd get it just right and it would drift off-center again after opening/closing it a few times. Even used Loctite and it didn't correct the problem.

I've read quite a few indictments of the metal used in the Tenacious screws, but I'm pretty confident this won't apply to those in your Golden-made PM2. ;)
I would tweak them babies !!!

You might try backing off the pivot screw just a wee bit at a time. It doesn't take much. I'm sure you've already lubed her. I think you'll be happier with the way it opens and closes. :spyder:

Got my blue m390 yesterday. It's my new favorite knife. Hard for me to come up with any criticisms of it.

@bree: The G10 will get a good bit smoother with use

no, it's not that loose. it stays put if i do as you described. i am ok with some resistance though. i may loosen the pivot a bit later.

another question - are the pocket clips on delica 4 and para 2 the same? ie, could i swap the black clip from the incoming delica with the stainless clip from this? i like that idea.... : )

On the PM2 it is easy to adjust the tension as well as the blade centering. Also, moving the pocket clip to tip up helps the centering of the board if it came NIB favoring the clip side. When adjusting the pivot---use both sides and adjust each side evenly and that should keep your blade centered :D

I just compared them (without removing either clip), and from all I can tell, they are identical except that the Delica4 clips have a hole for a lanyard underneath the screw holes that hold the clip itself on. I think they would work on the PM2 though.

I'm preordered for an orange para2 this spring. Looking forward to getting a PM2.
