Get the Manix 2. You will not regret it as long as you want a healthy sized knife.

If you can wait the manix 2 will be available in S30V soon. 154cm is a great steel though and both are great knives. Depending on use would dictate which to get. The stretch is pretty well rounded but the manix is more work oriented in my opinion. I have both but I have the cf stretch. Its one of my go to dress knives. I'm gonna vote stretch. A little more edge and more is usually better.

I love the Manix2 but the Stretch is a genius knife. If you want something impressive in hand the M2 won't disappoint; as a slicing gem the Stretch is the champ.

I'm saving up for a Stretch. I want to get it in ZDP189. I envision a laser beam slicing anything in it's path.

True, but you might want to get the Manix 2 with 154CM while you have a chance. Nothing against the Stretch at all, but the Manix is a classic. I am amazed everytime I hold one in my hands. It feels like they made it just for me. Rock Solid.

Obviously you want both. Which to get first? They are such completely different knives it would depend on what you need more, a heavy duty work knife or a great EDC knife. I had the 154CM Manix2 and was never unhappy with the steel. S30V is one of my favorites though. If I didn't have either I'd get the Stretch first and wait for the S30V Manix2 if I were on the fence like you are. You said you were going to order last night so what I'm saying may be mute. Let us know what you decided.

Voted manix c&b > backlock.

But I would advise to save up for either zdp stretch or a cheaper sprint run for the manix. Your going to love both knives so better to upgrade now.

i was thinking about that, but im sure it will be priced more than 75 bucks, so like another member said, might wanna grab the 154cm while its here and at least i can have a manix lol

i was going to order last night in bed, but the gf saw/heard me going back and forth so she told me i should just wait and see what my "forum buddies" say in the morning. I took her advice lol

im waiting a little longer to get some more input, thanks again though everyone!

I would wait just because the s30 will be the "upgraded" model. The benefit for most is minimal compared to knowing you don't have the less desired one.

Save up and get the green FRN Stretch in ZDP-189. That guy is a slicing demon.

Hey Tom, CutleryShoppe has them for about the same price last I checked, and the code "nutnfancy" will get you free shipping there, too ( and somehow arrives here just as quickly). And,as Jeff once said to me over the phone,"Wouldn't you rather support a real,American owned knife shop rather than some giant comglomerate?" I agreed, and ever since try to buy from CS instead of Amazon, unless they just don't have what I want in stock, or there's a huge price difference.
Anyway, I have both the knives in question ( the Stretch from CS, the Manix from Amazon :D ), I got the Stretch for $72, and the Manix for $67,IIRC, sometime in the last several weeks.
I'm happy with them both, but I think I like the Manix2 over the Stretch.
To me, the Stretch is basically just a bigger Delica ( or a smaller Endura? ).
But the Manix is a big, beefy handful O' steel. I have long been a fan of smaller knives untill recently, and now appreciate the bigger blades, and don't mind the weight in my pocket.
And, as pointed out, the hollow ground 154cm version ain't long for this world, plus they're a real deal compared to the more expensive newer versions coming out. Sure, the other steel is considered "better" but I can't find a negative word about 154cm.
And most of my blades are FFG, so I like the occasional "old school" hollow grind. Sure, this isn't the knife I'd first choose for thin slicing tomatoes, but if I had to use a folder to dig a railroad tie up out of the ground, the Manix2 would be the most suited, LOL !!!

Sttttttretch!
Is thin, light, with a long blade.
Manix is thick, heavy, with too thick a blade. (For my purposes)

Another vote for the Stretch. The ergos just work better for me, and it is a slicing machine!

I have a Manix2 but I never carry it. It is really a spare of a spare for my better half, who loves the Manix format. If I had to choose between the Stretch and the Manix2 I would choose the STretch. Easier for my arthritic thumbs to open/close. Takes up less pocket realestate. I like the blade shape for general usage. Very comfy in the hand even with FRN. (Please, Spyderco, make a G10 run of the Stretch! I don't care what steel, it doesn't have to be exotic--just in G10 scales.)
