My Yellow Catcherman

#1

Post by nospam »

I just received a spyderco yellow catcherman today.

I really like the shape of the blade and handle.

The blade on the one I got is hollow-ground.

The black handle one in the new spyderco catalog is flat-ground.

Would the flat-ground blade have more flex to the blade?

When did the change take place or do all the yellow handle ones have hollow-ground blades and all the black handle ones have flat-ground blades?

Thanks,

John,
The change came about when Spyderco recently changed the Catcherman to a thinner, more flexible blade of MBS-26 steel. The new model has an "E" on the end of its model number.

All previous Catcherman have the hollow ground blade.

Did I say were I got the catcherman from?
I got it from Mr. Jensen <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Thanks for the info and once again thank for the catcherman.

I like hollow ground blades better.
Seems as if i can get them sharper.

Can't wait to try it on some fish this spring.

Excellent find dude! <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0><img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0><img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> The newer MBS-26 Catcherman is definitely more flexible than its predecessor on AUS-8.. I had plenty of fun with the C-17!! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

What I was wondering; does a yellow handle look nice?

I'm not sure if it looks nicer or not.

I wanted the yellow handle because most of the time it's preaty dark on shore were we clean the fish.
A yellow handle makes it easier to see if it gets left on the cleaning table or dropped on the ground.

John F. Jensen rocks! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> He has a good variety of Spydies, and quick service.
