Keep all the boxes. And I do not buy a knife if no box and papers are present.

I keep all the :spyder: boxes too.

To me as a bit of a collector of Spyderco knives, discarding the box is like buying a magazine and throwing away the front cover. It’s the contents you are after; but the box is also part of the story.

The collection has hit the 200 mark, so having boxes as a reference is a must. Had about 50 of them out the other day to take a photo. :p Putting them all back into the right boxes was a lot of fun and a good way to get to know the collection a little better.

I was keeping all the boxes right up until a couple of days ago, but then I had to move to a new apartment, decided to ditch boxes for all the Spydies that have been used, I still have 3 brand new knives, boxes for which I kept of course.

I keep the boxes, but I don't need them. I just like to have them.

That said I don't have that many Spyderco knives, YET.

I keep them all. It does make a difference when selling, trading or gifting.

I keep them all, too - even though my entire collection is composed of users. I hardly ever sell or trade them - but you never know when you may need the boxes.

I keep all of the boxes.

If I do not use a knife and I sell it, then it is NIB when sold. Also, in my opinion, I feel if a knife is sold with the box the person took better care of it. I also tend to avoid buying knives that do not have boxes.

This habit carries over from buying old Winchester rifles. If it came in the box it brought more money. Old habits are hard to break.

Also, the boxes are small and easy to keep around.

Regards,
Jeff

i kept all of my boxes just because...then when i had to sell off some of them (i had collected waaay too many to use in a very short amount of time and needed the $), I could actually get good value for them because they were NIB. Without the box you'd be up the creek if you ever had to sell them for some reason.

Myself also. It's good to keep the boxes and all of the packaging materials if there's a chance they will be sold later. It was tough when I had to pare down my collection, but having the boxes and paperwork within helped with that effort :)

Yes I always keep my boxes. If you ever sell a knife having the original box and papers makes it sell quicker and usually for a higher price.
