Every time I cruise eBay I always come across WAY overpriced knives.

I saw this, almost $150 for a Tenacious, wtf people are crazy!

Lol, but it has been painted and engraved by the self proclaimed aficionado. :p

$150 will get you a whole lot of knife. $30 will get you a Tenacious

A fool and his money are soon parted.

That is so ridiculous.

Well said. I guess if you were the consummate Nutnfancy fanboy it might be worth looking at. I don't mind Nutnfancy as much as some do, but I **** sure wouldn't buy a Nutnfancy knife.

Congrats to the buyer of a $200 Tenacious... Although I kinda feel bad for the winning bidder. :(

Think what you will about NutnFancy, he had the guts to purchase 50 knives out of his own pocket, pay to have them Duracoated, pay for the lanyards, and market them. Have to wonder how many of his detractors would have the balls and the fan base to do the same.

As for what people will pay for any knife made in limited quantities, that's their business. At least four people felt it was worth $175 or more. Would I pay anywhere near that much for one, heck no. Would I label someone who does a fool, nope.

^^ I'd sell my name if anyone was buying. I think it's stupid to pay this much for what it is, but then again i'm also an artist and people pay ridiculous amounts for paintings all the time. People know what they're getting with the knife, so essentially he's selling limited artwork.

I wonder how this topic would go if Sal himself did something like this in limited numbers and sold them...

You make a good point. But this example shows that a turd can indeed be polished, and in turn make profit. And people will pay whatever they want for something that appeals to them, especially high cost novelty items.

To each their own I guess.

I wouldn't call the Tenacious a turd. A fair number of folks here think well of it. As for the rest, I agree completely. A few weeks back, someone paid over $7000 for a rare Hot Wheels car on eBay.

More of a figure of speech, lol. I have plenty of experience putting the tenacious, persistence and ambitious through their paces, and while they're not turds they're not exactly gems. Though I'm pleased with the budget lineup with no complaints.

Would I buy the nutnfancy Tenacious? No, but if it makes the winning bidder feel good then that is good. People think I'm off my rocker for the knives I own but I love every one of them like they were my children. People own all sorts of things that look like junk to most but is a treasure to them.

Not my cup of soup but I would file this thread under, "It's the bidders business what they buy, not mine." At least he picked a Spyderco, some folks actually lay out cash for a knife that isn't a Spyderco, seriously. :D

The Nutnfancy Tenacious. Well, it is worth what someone thinks it is so I hope the winner is happy with their purchase. At least there's a Spyderco underneath all that duracoat.
