Absolutely agree with you i own all of them except Police only because its too big for me, but im sure one day i will keep one.

Without any doubt endura its the flagship company, about military never i will be tired to write it is one of the best knives in market compared with other of same class/scopes and price its ok.

Harpy or Catcherman should be #5

The Dodo actually had a pretty short tenure. It still has quite a big cult following amoung aficionados and hard core collectors. I still like to work with mine occasionally.

I would be more inclined to name the Catcherman as #5 myself because it was in the lineup for over 10 years that I know of. But my personal first choice of #5 would be the HARPY>> being the Hawkbill fanatic I am :D

No way on the Dodo or Catcherman, but the C14 Rescue could definitely be a contender for top 5 honors. Especially if you consider the Atlantic Salt to be what it actually is, an H-1 C14.

Why would you not at least consider the Catcherman  ?? It was in the main line up from the early 90s till the mid 2000s

But actually there is one 800 pound gorrilla in the living room we all have overlooked and that would be the MARINER model

The Mariner was the very first Spyder I ever bought/owned. And the Harpy has been around since way, way back. But to say that the Catcherman doesn't even deserve consideration with the long tenure it had I just don't get that one at all

But realistically the MARINER should probably be #5 with all things considered>> and maybe it's even a toss-up between the MARINER and the Harpy>> But the MARINER probably should be #5 if you want to exclude any specialty type blades

Well SkullBouncer I personally love the Chinook model and I've had 3 of them in the past including the most recent one.

But as far as giving it that status of being one of the most popular Spyders of all time. There is just no way you can compare it to any of the 3 I recommended in my past 2 posts i.e. Catcherman, Harpy & Mariner

I still say that the Mariner should get the distinction of being #5 on the list. Actually I think I will try to compile a top 10 later and see where the Chinook and some other models fall in.

But the idea of this thread was to list the 5 most Popular Spyders of all time. And when you consider that some of these models were on the line up twice as long as most of the models it's hard to even consider many of the later models.

Again I think that the MARINER should get the #5 spot.

100% agree with Deacon. Have used and carried all of these knives and there is a good reason for them to be on the top 5 list. I have a few of each, and still looking forward to new variations.

Fair Points. ;)

Still an Iconic line of production -- didn't really rate it amongst the top 5 of obvious candidates mentioned, most of which I share agreement on.

Just hadda make my quite biased honorable mention as deservedly a Spyderco icon amongst others judged as great in their own legendary distinctive designs, constructs and performance strengths that are exceptionally definitive of the Spirit of Spyderco.

- Bruce / SB ;) :D

most recent would have to be the yojimbo 2. not all that well known outside the knife community as far as the general public goes and what they look for in a knife. but, most that do know about knives know about it and wouldn't mind owning one.

dragonfly might be the 5 th as the cost is low it is ppl friendly and still crazy usefull

if i had to boot one from your list tho it woudl be the police even for all the years that it was out i dont thinkn it can top the sales numbers of the others as they are more main stream knives

top to bottom for me reads
delica
native (it was in walmart awhile remember )
dragonfly (cost and size for avg user )
endura
millie ( a fav of mine and maybe the best light folder out there )
police (lower sales numbers do to over 4 ich blade and stigma of for LEO only )
