What steel would you like the orange para to be in

That's hard to say. It would have to be a pretty exotic steel for that to matter to me. An attractive price would probably help justify it, but so would a new exotic steel.

You do not need to know anything... look at Ankersons Spyderco videos on youtube. Specifically, the Military with the CTS-XHP blade. See and savor!

I think I'm going to have to agree here... I really like 154cm to be honest, have been nothing but pleased with it in every Spydie I own that has it... so an orange Para 2 with 154cm and that lovely attractive price tag can't be a bad thing, that base is now covered... then those of us that would like a more exotic steel can buy the orange one with 154cm and maybe just do a blade swap with one of the "exotics."
I don't know, just a thought.

154cm is cool. Maybe cpm 154cm? I don't think we've seen anything in that steel. But I like the idea of a low price point. Honestly almost any steel from aus 8 and to the best powdered steels is ok in my book as long as is holds a decent edge. I don't mind sharpening my knives :)

Im not saying there is anything wrong with Xhp. Just that this poll seems kind of forced when that is the only "exotic" option given.

Add more "hot topic" steels if you want a more accurate answer

The orange one is not "coming out", at this point it is just speculation amongst us forumites.

There are a number of sprints coming for sure for the para 2, this is not one of them. There might be one in the future, but this is all just unofficial talk. Unless you hear it from sal, or a mod, or see it for presale somewhere, assume it is just talk...

Making it harder to select something else, does indeed sway results. (not to mention, that "other" category is not going to be represented well in the results. SO yea, grouping over 12,000 steels in one category, doesnt really "open the door")

Why put XHP on the poll at all then? In fact, why make a poll at all? If you are just giving us the option of two known steels, then an open category, why not just make it an open ended question? You'll get more honest feed back.

Its like if someone were to ask you, What do you want to eat right now, bananas, fish, or other. If the options given are supposedly no more important than the options lumped in under "other", then it makes no sense to name them (and so few of them).

Since S30v is the "stock" option (not likely for a sprint), you are really only suggesting one steel. Please explain how a poll with one option is a poll. Would you vote if only one Candidate was allowed his name on the ballot? and all others had to be written in? You see what Im saying? You just need more options if you want honest results.
