Caly 3.5 Damascus
I am hoping that somewhere in the next year or two here that spyderco could make a 3.5 in Damascus vg-10. I would love to have that or a caly 3 with Damascus with a simple g10 handle.
I liked the delica Damascus but I wasn't too fond of the bone handles.
What does everyone think?

Looking for: Spyderhawk SE
Looking to move: Rock Salt

I love idea about Damascus Caly3/Caly3.5, but IMHO G10 is far away from being a good match, even polished one. Bone, not necessary jigged or nice wood would be great.

My top choices Natives5, Calys, C83 Persian

Man a g10 damascus caly would be great. Not many people combine these two as they are somewhat opposite ends of the knife spectrum, one for safe queens and one for users. I hope this happens!

Delica and Endura are great knives! They're the low priced crack samples that'll get you hooked on spyderco! Feed the need!

My vote for the caly 3
:spyder: :spyder:
A Damascus Caly 3, with Ti handles, preferably Flamed Ti sculpted handles, would be the "BOMB!" This may be a little unrealistic  , so I would settle for Ti bolsters, and would love to see that with
"LIGHTNING STRIKE" carbon fiber "DOUBLE BOMB" :D
Anybody else with Me on this?
Just My 2 cents,
Charlie

I don't like bone or stag handles, but if it came in wood, g-10, CF or micarta, that would be great!
The important thing was that I had an onion tied to my belt, which was the style at the time. You couldn't get white onions, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...

I really dont see the apeal of the Vg10 "Damascus". I put the damascus in quotes, because I hesitate to call it that. Now if they were to do ACTUAL damascus, Id buy 10, but no thank you on that laminated ish. Id rather have just the vg10 than the "Faux-mascus."
I might be in the minority here, but anyone who loves the real stuff as much as I do, will probably pass on this stuff. I see similar laminated knives sold for $30 by Boker(plus, ugh), I just think spyderco can do better.

I'll be satisfied and content with whatever Spyderco decides to do.

Stag/Jigged bone really 'matches' the pattern-welding of a nice damascus steel, IMO, but FWIW I'm not a huge fan of either material in the designs that Spyderco makes. The Delicas were tasteful, but not my cup of tea. Just seems too much like an attempt to be decorative.
Sadly, nice hardwood is just that much harder to use on the scale of a sprint run. (Let alone a full run)
I guess I'm more forgiving of 'fancy' hardwood scales because it's what I've always worked with. If I made and collected slip-joint knives I'd probably be more forgiving of jigged bone.
