I would like one, I have never broken one of the hidden tang fixed blades so I would take it just like it was in the original.

This came up a while ago in an old thread and I believe Sal was considering the idea of a limited sprint run of a micarta handled street bowie.

Old Thread: http://spyderco.com/forums/showthread.p ... 163&page=2

Sal Quote on 06-28-2009:

"Hey Vanguard,

We always appreciate input. I can speak with the maker about a Perrin Bowie proto in micarta. These are tough times and they might be interested in a short run. We probably wouldn't want to make more than 300-400.

sal"

Unfortunately I haven't heard anything about it since then. I love my street beat and would definitely get the bowie if they made it.

+1. You can never go wrong with a full tang. I'm liking the micarta handle idea.

Micarta would be very fitting on the bowie. Use the same as the hossom line. Or even the temp2 micarta.

I bet 1000 would sell like hotcakes.
Polished G-10 would also work.

I might be up for another one. Heck I'd be perfectly happy to get another in its original form (they're fun in the kitchen), but a different handle material might be okay, too.

The full tang does have some advantages, but the model as made works very well and is lighter. We have had some requests to bring the model back in all black for the military. We working on that now. We'll be redesigning and retooling the sheath as well.

That sounds very interesting, I missed out on the original Street Bowie.

That sounds great. I like the original very much. I'd be happy to see it come back.

I just got one NIB today. I love this thing. Great blade. I wonder how much a new Micarta full tang Street Bowie would cost.

$264.00 retail

picked it up for 120.00. Not a bad price. I saw one a year ago at a B&M for 100.00. So I don't feel too abused.
