Nice. Thanks. But I think that I'm going to keep the knife I was considering selling. Nothing wrong with having a back-up.

Good move. :) I get bummed each time I sell instead of buy. :D

I've used ebay. It is good because all payment and shipping needs are met. If you have a printer you don't even need to leave the house. Ebay does charge fees though but they aren't really that high. You can read about that. I sold several knives in the past 6 months to finance new ones and was very happy with the outcome. Another option might be trading knives with someone. I've done that once and both the guy I traded with and I were very happy. We both had nice knives that weren't being used and we each wanted the one the other had. It was an accidental meeting but worked out great. I think bladeforums.com has a page(s) just for trading.

That's all the experience I have with selling or trading knives vie the inet.

Why not use multiple forums and reach a bigger audience ?
When I type out a post I just copy and paste it to a couple of forums and see what the outcome is.

I always cross sell forums. Bladeforums will get the most views, but you have to pay a yearly fee. If I put things on eBay, I always charge more since they take about 10%. If you want to stay free, list on jerzeedevil and cpfmarketplace. Knife-Bst has a lot of Spydies, but very little traffic in comparison.

I can't seem to sell a knife on Knife-BST to save my life. I hope you have better luck. I did find 2 I was looking for on BST though.

knife-bst gets VERY little traffic comparatively. I have scored nicely on there a couple time though.

I would say an avg for sale thread of mine probably had 30-40 hits on knife-bst by the time it had 400+ on jerzeedevil and cpf. Bladeforums is good too, but I don't want to pay for it.

Attention Everyone: This is how you properly pose a question about BST.

Notice no use of the word fanboy, no insults, no crying and moderator intervention?

Thanks Wolverine for properly communicating an inquiry. :)

I hear you about that. I've got a couple up there now...probably pull them soon.

Knife-BST should get more traffic! Since it was started by board members, and many of us would like to sell and trade more amongst ourselves, we really should try and use it more often.

Thanks to you guys for answering me promptly and maturely. Especially when that sticky was staring me in the face 2 minutes after I posted. I was embarrassed that I missed it to say the least :) I'm going to keep the knife in question anyway. Can never have too many Spydercos. It's just another member of the family. Thanks again.

I highly recommend Bladeforums if you don't mind paying the $25 annual donation for Gold Membership. If you like knife forums in general, the donation is well worth it even if you never even list a knife for sale.

I have sold about 20 or so knives on Bladeforums and most of them sold within 2 days. One of my knives sold in 2 minutes and it was a Spyderco. Of course, I just got lucky selling it that fast but I always feel confident that my knives will sell pretty quick on Bladeforums. In fact, it's the only website I use to sell knives.
