Darth Vader's EDC

So i screwed up my digicam Para 2...had some serious withdraws from that knife (seems i'm hooked on it more than i realized). So, i stopped over at the knife shop to look around, and the instant i pulled this baby out of the box, the money jumped right out of my wallet and into the cash register. This is only the second time i've ever opened a box and instantly fell in love with the knife i pulled out (first was my Caly 3 ZDP).

I really love the black hardware, but i really wish the liners were black too...i can live with that though. Also i suspect the clip is going to scratch up eventually (why not DLC the clips too if the coating is that much stronger???) so i may swap the acid etched clip off my other Para 2.

It sure doesn't blend in well with my khakis, but man do i love it. This is my first DLC knife..i'm pretty thrilled with it. They also get bonus points for the black anodized lanyard tube...that's a nice touch.

Beyond all that...i swear, every Spydie i buy seems to one-up the previous one in fit and finish. This knife is easily the tightest pivot i've felt yet (as in zero blade play tight) and opens smooth as silk. Also the detent seems to be WAY stronger on this one than my other Para 2. The blade is dead center and drops by gravity at the press of the lock tab. It really gives a satisfying feelings as if i scored one of the better produced versions (if that makes sense).

Oh, and the blade isn't at all chalky looking like it looks in the first pic...that pic just shows how much glare you get when the sun hits directly down onto it.

Very nice, I'm jealous. I'd love to find an all black one or a digi cam/dlc in all black hardware no local places around here carry para2's though.

I was shocked he even had a Para 2 let alone the all black. I went in looking at Militarys because i've been considering one...and he did have two in stock, but the same thing happened the last time i went in for a Millie...i got a Para 2 instead. I just can't justify the extra inch+ of handle length for only 1/2 inch more blade.

He only had a SE Millie in the case so i asked if he had one in PE and he said "no but i have a Paramilitary 2 PE" so i said yeah let me see that...and when i opened the box my jaw dropped and it was all over.

This was my 32nd bday gift from my mother...i was holding out for a Yojimbo 2 preorder but this will definitely hold me over until they're out and readily available.

Gorgeous knife. I recently picked up a Para 2 and am in love with it myself. The G-10 looks awesome in those pictures you took.

Thanks for sharing!

Yeah i was gonna mention the G10...this is probably the roughest/grippiest G10 i've felt yet. My old Manix 2 had a really nice texture too. My original Para was really smooth, so much that i almost suspected that i bought a used knife. My other Para 2 is grippy but nothing like this one. This is one of those "shred your jeans" G10s, which i guess is good and bad depending on how much grip you like.

I'm a tard and left it in ferric chloride too long and it ate off enough metal to create a ton of slop and play in the pivot :(

Still usable, but blade play is a major pet peeve of mine.

Thanks for the photos. I love the look of the black hardware and black blade. Be careful though, Darth Vader may force pull your knife from you.

I've officially named this knife Darkside :D

I'm even looking into having it engraved on the blade.

That combo always gets my vote for a forum knife but it hasn't happened yet.

Lord Vader , your "lightsaber" looks delightfully sinister. I bet when u open it up it has a nice lightsaber "hum". May it serve you well. My Para Military 2 has a sweet digital camo G10 handle and beautiful satin finish blade. I named it "The Devil's Tongue". The Para Military 2 is just a bad *** knife all the way around. Nice to see someone else obsessed with the same outstanding blade (and the same demonic sense of humor).
