A couple of Salsa Q's

#1

Post by Bruceter »

Hello All,

Thought I would toss out a couple questions

to all of you Salsa owners.

Which Salsa do you have/carry?

Aluminum or Titanium?

What color?

PE or SE?

Do you like the hood?

Thanks in advance.

Bruceter

BTW, My answers to the above are,

both, blue, PE, and I am still not so

sure about the hood.

I have a green Aluminum Salsa in PE that I occasionally carry around the house. The Cobra Hood is my main method of opening the blade because it's so convenient. It's a great little for my home carry.

Red(right pocket) & Green(left pocket) aluminum Salsas(can't afford the Titanium one yet). Both plain edge. Love the hood.

They come in handy when you take on a man eating taco salad at Don Pablos!!!!

Blue, green,'brown',all PE. One of them would prolly be my EDC,except I just can't get into the nested lock. Just feels weird to me. I really like the cobra hood, though.

Be cool if they ditched the titanium version for carbon fiber.

Ti plain edge.

The cobra hood works very well indeed, although I'd be equally happy without it.

Tan CE Alum (from AET) in my right/rear 24/7. Waiting on my Green CE #135v that Eric "Normark" has right now. Then the Tan will go on a neck rig.

One point to make, it doesn't come in SE... I found that out back in december... ended up with 2 CE though.

Don't mind the 'hood... figure I'll take it off and run for a day or so without and see, but it'll probably go back on.

Ti PE here. The hood works fine for me. It doesn't catch on my clothing either. One of the features I like the best is the integral lock.

Ti PE, truly a great knife.
The hood is an essential part of the Salsa, it works really well and I'm glad it's there. Although I'm reserving judgement on seeing it on other Spydies.

Thanks for all of the replies.

I find that the hood will sometimes catch on
the top of my pocket and start to open the
blade. I think that the width of the hood could be a little narower.
Also, it seems that my aluminum one is a little smoother that the titanium one.

Thanks again,

Bruceter
