OT favorite shoes?
I've seen wallets and other stuff so why not shoes? Long before I developed an addiction for knives there was the shoe fetish. I demand that the shoes I wear be comfortable. I cannot wear a shoe just because it looks good if it is not comfortable. I am on my feet all day long and as a custodian at a middle school, put on many miles each day. My favorite shoe thus far are Rockport Prowalker World Tour Classics. I am now on my third pair. Wearing them practically every day they still last 2 years. Most comfortable, longest lasting shoe I have tried. What's yours and why? dtsoll

US Army Boots, Jungle Boot style...
Had them since Nov 00, and still going hard. Only one spot of glue where I had a split starting.
I bought them due to non-slip sole, and chem resistant sole and constuction... I was working at BurgerKing, and others would get 6months out of shoes, I'm too cheap for that.
I am on my feet all day, and the gel insoles and mid-calf sides(the boots come up to mid-calf) make it easy.
My Word, My Honour, is my Life.

I have to second the Rockport Prowalker World Tour Classics! Very comfortable and long wearing. I had pain in my feet, ankles and knees from walking on concrete floors until I started wearing the Prowalkers. They solved that problem fast and I've been wearing them ever since (5 years now).

1: A pair of Herters lace up hunting boots that I couldn't wear out. Gave them to Goodwill after 25 years of use.
2: A pair of Georgia boots that I can't wear out and I still wear them.
3: A pair of Carolina Loggers that AT&T bought me in 1998 that have been resoled and have a Navy spitshine. They are my favorites.
4: A pair of Wolverine Goretex-Thinsulate Hunting boots that I use for deer hunting.

i like rugged shoes.
bought a couple of redwings. didnt think it'd be a difference to my caterpillar when i spend the money (i spend it 'cos i've been seriously frustrated that day and wanted to waste some money on a silly acquisition), now realized that didnt work out, since theres definitly a difference in quality and comfort . will go for redwing shoes only in the future...

For EDW its a CHEAP pair of COSTCO "Court Classic" Tennies.
For rough wear its a pair of Corcoran "Field" Boots.
And for rough cold wear its a pair of Danner boots.
And I suppose we should call this thread the "Simona" effect?

Oh, the unsurpassable DM's!
I too like the Doc Martin line of shoes/boots, but I find them a little inflated on the price side of things.
To date, my *favorite* pair of shoes would have to fall to my pair of GBX's. Talk about comfortable! And, the price is reasonable.($60 bucks, if you find them in the right place.) My favorite sneaker would be my Adidis that I picked up last fall. Those fellas were a wee bit more $alty, but not too bad. Hey, I also like Sketcher shoes for nights out on the town.
