Thanks to Spyderco Warranty and Repair

#1

Post by Vess »

Well, after years of use, my old GIN-1 Native started to display some blade play. So, I sent it in for a tune up, along with an old battered G2 Tuffram Civilian I got second-hand. Got them back today, with the following results:

Native was replaced by a new one. Not GIN-1, not CPM440V, but the newest CPMS30V! How cool is that!?

Civilian, which had a broken tip and acid-burned pits on the blade was completely repaired. The original blade was resharpened and the pitted part was smoothed over with no traces of the old damage. The tip is now terrifyingly sharp.

And all that for US$5. Need I say more?

Great Many Thanks Spyderco!

Wow!! 8)
That is unbelievable.
I have never seen any company that has such a good service and reputation.
I asked foe a catalog at the 8th of this month and they send it to my the same day. I received it few days later. That's so fast..

Nothing comparable over here in Germany. We have a so called "Servicewüste" ->Service Desert
Glad to hear there is a oasis, even if it is far away.

Give us a review of the S30V ASAP.Is your Native PE or SE?

I learn something new everyday, even though I don't want to. Jeff

It's a plain edge FRN Native. The finish is similar to that of my Military in CPM440V. Cuts like crazy, but I only had it for a day, and it had a chance to slice up only 4 cardboard boxes. Still shaving sharp...

I am telling ya, I am really beginning to appreciate the Natives again. It was my 1st Spydie, and it was a mere GIN-1. This CPMS30V made it a lean, mean cutting machine... Love it.
