Caspian on the way - advice?

Since my wife and I just got into kayaking and the Tasman and Saver Salt just won't do (not fast enough into action), I ordered 2 Caspians with the blunt tip. I hope she likes her's. :o Anyway, how would y'all propose I attach them to our PFD's? They have that square thing on them with a slot on each of the four sides. Would zip ties be the best bet? Thanks in advance for any tips. :)
