Post by joebe »

when you have the blade locked in the open position and you press it against a hard object (cutting board) is it normal to have a little play in the blade ? it's minnimal but there is justed a bit before it stops. i would guess this is normal after the knife has broken in ?

How much is "a little"? A mm or so is normal, as the lockbar is designed with a little leeway to compensate for wear.

Never underestimate the impossible.

If it's a lockback knife then a mm or so of play is normal. This is a feature of ALL lockbacks and is caused by the built in tolerance needed for the locking bar to clear the notch in the blade tang for when it is disengaged.

Walk softly, carry a big stick.
