I just registered the name www.Spydie.com

I have a few of my own idea's for the website, but I would like to hear from some other Spydie nuts as to what they would like to see on it.

Looks to be that Spyderco.com site

has a run for their God Almighty

Dollar!<img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> High time someone

"splintered" from this budget website

& formed a "new idea"! Maybe

Spydie.com will fair better in the

IMAGE posting than here. Remains to be

seen. Howz about some different

"fonts" for the masses on this new

site?! It seems "Java the Hut" & a

"select few" here can have accesss to

this "technical parochialistic" crap

and the rest cannot!<img src="sad.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> Times they ARE

a changin'!<img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

The website is going to take sometime to get up and running as I have a idea of how much time and work can go into a website.

Thoughts I had for Spydie.com

Spydie Forums
Reviews of spydie knives, not just from me but from any Spydie.com member
Online Catalog with Spydie specs
Spydie auctions

Like I said just some thoughts I'm having tonight <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

The first thing that I will work on is some type of forum.

Maybe by the end of next weekend I will have that up and running.

I had a website a couple of years ago (for work) and I know they can be lots of work and the pay stinks :D

Feel free to send me your idea's

Allen> my biggest trick, inserting letters...

"<"font color=color(ie black, red, green, white, blue)">" letter "<"/font">"

just remove the "s and take out the spaces b/w > letter < and insert letter in... easy...

EDIT: just popped over and made a post but it's not showing yet... something about the admin checking it before making it public? should see about taking that off as it'll make for a lot of work.

in fact i was thinking about that on my own <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>. just didnt want to spend the money on the hosting (need it for my next spydie thats a valid excuse isnt it?).
@pahl
-what platform is it going be run on?
-will you have admin/root access?
-what programming language are you going to use?
if the platform will be some kind of unix check for www.freshmeat.net - theres plenty of free forum software (phorum is a really nice one).
let me know if i can help.

Not sure

Not sure

-what programming language are you going to use?

Does HTML and Java Script count <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

It's just going to be a simple site to start with. Hosted by angelfire.com and I think I will go with ezboard for the forum.

I don't really know any programming other then Java Script.

I see the site is up and running.

Now I have lots of work to do on it.

Feel free to contact me with your idea's

kith - I can see yer a glutton fer punishment lad, with yer madd desire to bring change and reality to this here new forum.

It won't no longer be "Yer a sight for sore eyes". Now i'ttl be "Yer sight is makin me eyes sore" <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0><img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0><img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0><img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0><img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Looks cool, I like the "Exchange" idea alot. It seems they want alot of personal information to register though.

Who said the information you give them to register has be real?

You may want to use your real email if you want to receive email updates of when someone replied to your post.

Other then that make up the rest if you want.

Sometimes I do <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

@cmassicotte
its just wild ideas i am having <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>. and if people like those ideas i am also willing to implement them, or help implementing them. if they dont, just forget about it <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>.
as for the sore eyes, i can hit ALT+F4 _very_ fast <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>.
@j smith well... i think a thread wont be very helpful because it will get lost when people stop posting on it. an extra page where people may upload pics seems more promising to me.

Congratulations and good luck. I think it's a great idea. I'd like to see on it sort of Spyderco history, meaning all the models featuring cronologically with some brief description (year, size, handles, steel, blade hole diam.). With links to similar models. Eg. Micarta Calypso jr. vs. FRN one.
I'll gladly oblige if you think I can help you - some animated gif's or anything <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
