Brass or Copper will be a bugabear to keep looking good though. Not that there is anything wrong with using those materials, but you had better keep that can of Brasso (polish used by the military) handy! Even a safe queen will need constant attention to keep it looking good. :) :)

I think either material would be decent if not "load bearing". Brass or Bronze in load-bearing situations would be decent I think (eg: The Romans).

Personally I LOVE patina. It looks rustic in the way that makes me think of expertly crafted Bruschetta or fire-roasted salsa out of a mortar and pestle.

Unlike tarnish on steel it doesn't lead to rust and while artifacts from the ancient days have degraded over time they have stood up far better than the iron equivalents. Frankly I don't care if people find my knife collection in 3052 and the blades have disintegrated...screw the future, I'm selfish =p

I'd love to see some non-ferrous metals in bolsters and spacers. Full-on handles I'm not crazy about.
I prefer Copper/Brass to titanium in bolsters; I think a Persian or Caly3.5 would be phenomenal...

Have a single blade Lloyd Trapper that has bronze front bolsters, lightning strike handles, and 52100 blade. Rub your hands over it to shine.

I think copper or brass would be awesome because of the patina factor...i wouldn't even try to keep it clean, let it tarnish and get a nice old patina on it. Scratches would be another issue though since they're so soft.

Yeah, I would buy a (slim) bronze-scaled knife in a heartbeat. Certainly any of the Sypderco signature blades (Endura, Delica, Dragonfly, Para, Millie) would be great candidates.

I think instead of for either brass, bronze etc.. You just need to ask for a Copper based alloy. Leave it at that!

I'd be interested. Love my solid Cu flashlight from maratac. Im a sucker for a good patina.

My guess would be that brass, copper, or bronze won't happen, , , ,but I sure like the thought of what could be done (aesthetically) with them.

We're not opposed. Hasn't been requested much. Wouldn't work for functional parts like locks. Could work for scales, bolsters, liners, trim, etc.

You could call it the nebakanezer ;)

Copper and brass look pretty, but I really don't like the funky smell they leave on my hands.
