Do we know if the Squeak is going to have the new back-spring as with the other slipits?

According the to catalog-The blade is held open by a notched-joint at the pivot that generates resistance to closing. So yea sounds like it

Believe all slippy's going forward will have a firmer backspring. I don't think it's just the ukpks, though someone please correct me if I'm wrong...

To save time and give a reference for other users, the specs in the catalogue are:

Closed - 3 1/8” (79mm)
Overall - 5 1/32” (128mm)
Blade - 2” (51mm)
Edge - 1 3/4” (44mm)

the new split spring is not in production yet. Also, it will take a while before anyone is using it outside of Golden.

Can someone comment on how weak the current frn slipit spring is?

I have heard people complain about it, but I can't gauge if I should be avoiding the frn ukpk's because of it. I have a G-10 ukpk, how much weaker is the frn spring?

I tightened down on the pivot a bit and the screw holding the back spring to make them a little stiffer.

my frn rescue slip it is great. I only have about 8 spydies and the fit and finish is one of the best and for me the spring it perfect.

I think this is great news that the squeak will not have the stronger spring... it is a small knife after all.

I've not had any problems with my leaf bladed FRN UKPK. It's perfectly tight, although not crazy snappy. Perfect balance, IMHO, for a OHO knife with a choil. You couldn't ever flick it open if that gives you a frame of reference.

This knife looks interesting as well as affordable. A short, wide blade has appeal for me. N690Co is also a good material. I'm going to keep an eye on this one :)
