That's something I was thinking about recently, that I would really be excited about, a Barong sprint. I was thinking the ideal materials would be peel-ply CF and ZDP. I would buy that in a heartbeat! If they could push back the grind lines to about the midway point of the opening hole, so as to give more edge, that would be the cherry on top.

I wish I had gotten a Barong before they went into price orbit after they were discontinued. So many knives, so few dollars.

I'm in the same position...there are so many out of production knives that I missed out on and now are absurdly overpriced.

There's been a Caly Jr. on ebay for $325 for the last few months...I wonder why it hasn't sold..

I think that there is a good chance for Barong2, the same way it is happened with Persians.

Sprint with grind line on the blade moved back, polished G-10 like on the Vallotton would be incredible. I await the day...

I'd be down for a Sprint Barong!

Ill throw my name in the hat. I wanted a Barong when they were in production, but didnt have the money. Super steel would be nice but I would carry a model with the same features and be absolutely happy.

I've never held one so I can't say one way or the other if moving the grind lines would be a good idea or not but looking at the photos in this thread, it looks like you can still choke up a bit, just not as much though.

I also wish I got one when the gettin' was good. I'd certainly be in for a sprint.

I hope so--my dad day gift to me was a very pricey Barong. So many threads on the issue. Barong is the biggest sleeper success other than maybe rock salt since I've been hanging around. I definitely believe that Spyderco could sell enough to justify a sprint run,... I think that the Schempp designs are hard to get a handle on without handling them, so they are a hard sell through e-commerce, but more non spyderco afis seem to be catching on to the Schempp mystique.

I would guess that its too soon for a Barong sprint. Even if it turned into an after the fact success on the secondary market, it was probably not economically successful for Spyderco. Maybe some time down the road it will reappear.
So many knives, so few pockets... :)

YES!

Sal has stated that they will do a Sprint/Sprints in the future, but not any time soon.

I'd like to also request the grind be moved further back, and the handles be polished black G-10/ Micarta :D
