My first "spyder-bite" ""Very Graphic!!!!""
While I was training in a hand to hand combat scenario I cut myself with my lovely and trusted tasman salt:
Let's see how many stitches those will be!!!

That's a good one! It'll definitely need a "few" stitches...

... and that's why we don't train with live blades
Hope you didn't do any permanent damage with that one.

Great pics.
Could have been worst, it could have been a Civie.
Best of luck.

While SE knives works well against bare skin..as you can see by the pics...it's not the blade edge you want for SD.....That being said either it might be a good idea to get a trainer for future flailing about your arms in a defensive manner with a blade....or wear a heavy sweatshirt to cover your arms....to cut down possible damage should you repeat this type of self slashing yourself event...I am guilty of always working out even at high speed with live blades...but then again I have 50+ years of experience in doing so....even so.... I am still very very careful....Doc :D
BTW: That's not a bite...it's a chomp!
PS...I am assuming that is your arm...if that's your leg...well...get some steel pants....

Thanks!!!
Thank you all for your wishes and responses!
Believe it or not the actual cut happened not while I was practicing "my technique" but a few seconds later while I was holding my Tasman and I got distracted!
The idea of me using a "live" blade in my training WAS to really get a feeling for the knife I use and to conquer my fear of using it! (I guess that backfired on me  And now I am scared as ****!!) I think it's time to invest in a trainer!
The cut was not too deep and there is no permanent damage that won't heal.
To my surprise the doctor in the ER did glue it instead of stitches because it is very visible spot on my arm and it won't leave an ugly scar he said!
Again thank you all for your support and have a good day!

Glad everything worked out and no major damage.
Let me ask you... In the picture it seems as though you used a paper towel and a hand wipe. Do you have any first aid supplies? Its always good to have capable FAK in the house for emergencies like this.
