I have no idea what peel-ply is, though I'm sure I've seen it before! Based on what I do know I'd probably prefer textured like that pic above, but would probably get another Jester either way. The moonglow option would be awesome too. I didn't go in on the EDC Forums knife since I found that was just too much Moonglow!! LOL

It's just a more precise name for the textured G-10 Spyderco has used on every G-10 handled knife they've ever produced except the red Sprint Persian and the new Bushcraft.

Oh ok, so my Caly3 G10, Dragonfly G10, etc are considered Peel-ply? If that's the case then yeah I want the Jester like that! I got a black FRN version just before they discontinued them.

Thanks for the clarification! Much appreciated. :)

Most of the G10 on Spyderco knives is peel-ply - it gives a rough texture on the outer surface. It is also applied to some CF too - such as the CF Stretch and Manix (I believe). As I understand it, the name comes from the fact that when the slab is made the outer skin is peeled off to reveal a layer of rough resin. :)
My spydies: Squeak, Tenacious, Terzuola, D'Allara, UKPK CF peel-ply pre-production, UKPK CF smooth pre-production, UKPK G10 orange leaf-blade, UKPK FRN grey drop-point, UKPK FRN maroon leaf-blade, Bug ... all PE blades :)

Just because it's your birthday doesn't give you the power to go around being correct and everything. :P

I agree, though. :)

Well, I am thinking my keys will polish it very slowly and very messily. Yeah, it would be nice to have it smooth from the factory.

One downside to peel ply, if it's as light as the grey shown recently on something else, is that it will tend to trap and show dirt a lot more than a similarly colored smooth surface would.

I can't wait for the Jester sprint run. I'm for textured myself. I would prefer blue over grey. But I'll take what I can get, though :)

Has there been any word on a rough release date? I would say/hope that given the release of the Grey Para it would be coming soon, but I'm not even sure if they are using the same G-10 or not.

Hopefully they're tweaking the blade too.

Please, no tweaking. Jester's blade is near perfect, just replace AUS6 with VG10.
