Least threatening designs?
Least threatening designs?
What do you guys think are the most non knife people friendly blades that spyderco makes? obviously anything small, not pointy, and without serrations is going to be the best bet.

Rock lobster might be non threatening if it's small enough for you.

The Rock Lobster is a fairly large knife, I handled one last weekend. Definetly not pointy but on the big side,if I pulled it out of my pocket at work I'm sure it'd raise some eyebrows. I'd suggest something in the ladybug-->dragonfly-->delica size as capable but non-threatening. Depends on your situation.Bill S. wrote:Rock Lobster is a great suggestion.
Also check out the Jason Breeden Rescue--might look like a butter knife to casual observers. Not pointy, plain edge.

The Kopa, the Kiwi, and in larger blades there's something almost disarming about the looks of the Lum Chinese. That includes the larger version.

as stated above stay away from hawk bills. also i have personal experience with peoples reactions to a yojimbo or chinook. they are typically not positive. anything you have read about people mistaking the yojimbo for a box cutter is not consistent with my experiences. i can assure that snapping open your chinook to cut your sandwich is going to cause a strong reaction.
I carried a Ladybug religiously when I worked part-time as a Barista. We had a "no weapons policy" but I proudly showed each manager and all I got was a, "awww cute!".
For me it depends on where you are. Most Delica sized knives are office friendly assuming they don't look very tactical. The Cento3 for example. Dragonfly and smaller (2.5" blade) is pretty much safe unless you work in a conservative place.

Gonna have to disagree with the OP...Believe or not...it has been my experience that the Yojimbo is a very sheeple friendly knife....I'm not kidding...people do not freak out about it, must be the unusual design and box cutter appearance of the blade that makes it OK with sheeple minded people...Doc :D

I was initially going to say the yellow H1 Ladybug - its a cute little thing...
But lately, I had a lot of good reactions from folks when I whip out my orange Millie. For some reason, folks assume that it is some kind of specialized search-and-rescue or first-responders tool - rather than a war-fighter's weapon. :)
