My Manix2 has arrived!

#1

Post by cesar »

Hi everybody!

Just to communicate that my Manix2 has arrived in my home this afternoon! Total cost to buy in Brazil: USD 158.00 with shipment and customs taxes. But I'm sure that it isn't simple buying a knife... Manix2 is an investment for life an I hope this will serve me until the cofin (hope to use it to escape! :D ).

Thanks!

IMPRESSIVE! JUST IMPRESSIVE! I'm in home now, and put my hands in the knife. Can't believe the quality of that. It is so solid, no a micron of blade play, the G10 is high quality and amazing grip. The ergonomics fits perfectly in my hand end the locking system is a piece of cake to close one handed (do it 1st time). The jimpings are very nice to improve the grip and are beyond the G10 scales.

Perfect size for a pocket knife and fits well in a jeans front side pocket without troubles.

I can't see quality differences between the Manix2 and a custom made knife. This is a planned buying, because me and my instructor evaluates the entire catalog of Spyderco and the reviews of the crew here in forum. I can testify that, for Self Defense purposes, the Manix2 is the ultimate choice.

I just want to know that beside Golden Colorado U.S.A. Earth inscription it have something like a capital "E" with an arrow pointing up. Could you decipher this to me?

Well, FIVE STARS to Manix2!

Congratulations American People! This knife is a proof that you can make extremely high quality products, your industry dictates standards as an example to be followed by all countries, and it reflects the feelings of the people that live there, who do their jobs with dedication, care and love. My full respect for you!

Congratulations Glesser Family and the Spyderco Crew!

Yet another question: could you please tell me some tech specs about the Manix2 blade, like steel type, if is forged or not, and the hardness grade? I take a look at Manix2 page on Spyderco website, but these information are not displayed.

Thank you!

The best I ever had! I have some CRKTs, Benchmades and Cold Steels, all of these brands are very good, but my Spyderco experience are the best. With my Endura 4, I discover an amazing cutting experience with a well designed blade plus a well shaped handle. With Manix2 (I am so rookie in opinion about this because I am owner just few hours) I see the best engineering work and a personal care in present this knife to the public. I have the feeling that all Manix2 are inspected by Sal and Eric in person before packing!

So, another brand will need a hard work to convince me to spent my money!

Thanks!

Not sure what model you have. You should be able to find most of the information about the common steels like 154cm on the internet.

http://www.crucible.com/eselector/prodb ... 54cms.html

Not sure on hardness. High 50's? It's a pretty tough working stainless steel especially in the standard hollow-grind formation.

The manix 2 is in 154CM less it's a sprint run. It should say it on the blade.

Hi Blerv and .357 mag! I am feeling myself a donkey... I was thinking 154CM was a kind of measure, instead the steel type! I was wondering that the blade was shorter than 15,4cm and the full knife is longer than that... Begginer's pearl of "wisdom"!

Thanks to the advice!

Just got myself a Manix 2 a couple days ago and I share your enthusiasm. I own several Benchmades, Emersons and various other quality folders and this knife beats them all in combined build quality and strength.

Don't even get me started on the ergos. This thing was built specifically for MY hand. Not sure how they did that.

All I need to do is put this thing on a diet and I've got the perfect knife. The weight is the one thing that'll keep this from being my EDC.

You know that how? Maybe you should have started the sentence with "I believe...".

Chuck: I Believe... that you need a hug.

Joe: Thanks for the link. Unfortunately I'm a G-10 junkie. I'll get this monster down to weight.

Hahaha, not from you, I don't. :p

Still it's an evasion of the presentation of opinion as fact. ;)

And to keep this on topic: I know how you feel Cesar. Congrats on the first or the rest of your spydies to come. :D
