I got my sharpmaker on Monday and since then I've lost all the hair on my arms and my wife is getting pissed because every piece of scrap paper in our house has fringed edges now
Congrats on the Sharpmaker, it's hard to keep yourself from looking for things to sharpen around the house. Glad to hear I'm not the only one always picking up scraps of paper after testing my edges.
:spyder: Thanks God we have paper to cut  . . . . In a few years the only thing that we will have for writing (and cutting :eek :) will be "LAPTOP" and "PC" :D . . . . So people, start saving some P A P E R , just for future "edge testing" . . . . :D :D :spyder:

Just curious if they're a specialty item or something.
:spyder: Seperate item, they'll get an extra polish to the edge Doesn't come standard because they're not needed at all for amazing results. I stopped using mine because the standerd white rods can easily get my knives scary sharp sharper than factory and I just don't need them that razor polish. I like the bite of sharpness from the white rods. I also don't like it that uber polished edges dont cut tomatoes well, just slide on the skin. Hair whittlin' though those uf rods. :spyder:

I can get great edges with the standard fine rods but, the UF rods are so fun to play with. I have sharpened lots of my S30V blades (lots of BM and my Sage 1 and Native) to an incredible edge with the UF rods that I was not able to do with my regular fine rods or my Lansky Croc stick set.
