Dragonfly 2 FRN or G10?
Dragonfly 2 FRN or G10?
I'm wanting a Dragonfly 2 and I'd like to know what practical advantage (if any) does the G10 with liners offer over the plain FRN version without liners?
I understand the strength argument, but I don't think the FRN Delica and Endura have liners. Point being that they perform great without them and are apparently very strong.
Nothing wrong with the G10 version, just more expensive. For an small EDC, is there any real advantage to upgrading from the FRN version?
Thanks for your input. :D

Bill, I'm still new to Spyderco and didn't know the Delica and Endura had liners. Thanks for that info. I appreciate the input from all you guys. :)Bill S. wrote:IMO, the Dragonfly 2 does not need liners, due to its small size and potential uses. However, the Delica FRN and Endura FRN both have skeletonized liners.

The g10 is nicer looking and feeling IMO. Also if you have to lend your knife to anyone, they won't comment on it being made of "plastic". Not that it matters though.
Then again the zdp 189 comes in that slick looking green frn.

The light weight of the FRN is an advantage - it almost disappears in your pocket. This can be a bonus if you are wearing it with a suit or slacks.
The G10 gives it a bit more heft - but I just can't get used to it - the balance seems...off...somehow. Maybe I've just carried too many FRN DFlys...

FRN Or G10
I have both and find myself carrying the Draggonfly2 in FRN. The checkering on the grip makes it just as secure as the G10 but the FRN is lighter. This Dragonfly FRN 2 is a great improvement with the new wire clip and VG10 steel and is my favorite Spyderco. This Dragonfly 2 cuts way out of proportion to it's size.

Only the Delica 4 and Endura 4 have liners and that is just to enable a 4 way clip position.roymail wrote:Bill, I'm still new to Spyderco and didn't know the Delica and Endura had liners. Thanks for that info. I appreciate the input from all you guys. :)
Strength was never an issue on previous ones.
Get the one you like the most, they are all good.
And dont forget the steel version, it's nice too.
