I'm not sure how I feel about the changes to BladeForums

If your topic has nothing to do with Spyderco, you can post it here.

I guess I'll get used to the new format - but why fix it if isn't broken?

There's the problem, right there. It was broken, you just didn't know it. It was in the same position as Windows 98. Yes, it still works, but if you have any problems, you better be able to fix them yourself, because nobody is going to help you. If some punk kid decides it would be funny to hack the site and scramble everything, the whole thing goes down for good, or at least until this update gets done, and quite possibly all the data gets lost.

Spark didn't want to do this. The old software was just that - old. It was older than the version in use here. It should have been updated a couple of years ago, but he knew from past experience what a PITA it was going to be and the tide of vague griping he was going to have to endure, so he put it off until the software company said "update or find a new program to use."

If you have a specific issue, tell him. "I don't like it" is not a specific issue. He can't do anything about your likes or dislikes. "It's too cluttered" isn't specific enough. Does that mean there is too much text? Does that mean that that the font is too small, the spaces between the words are too small, there are too many words per line, the ads are too big, or what? Give him a specific issue, suggest a specific way to correct it and see what happens.
I don't believe in safe queens, only in pre-need replacements.

I see, I can't quite get used to a low brightness setting on my monitor. I only put it all the way down when I bring it to classes or if for some reason I'm using it in the dark. I'm just used to having it on high I guess. Sometimes I have trouble recognizing the "true" colors in a photo(like G10 scales) unless I amp up the brightness.

Lol, I hear ya. Maybe you'll have some luck lowering the brightness level of your monitor like Deacon suggested?

Well said! Things will fall into place in time.
