I regret moving here to FL, I been here since i was about 11-12 and im 15 now. it was OK at 1st .. then things started getting better. then they got worse, My best friend that ive known since i lived here is going to be in jail for the next 10 years, My Girlfriend that ive been with for a year has left me and stabbed me in the back. As native Floridian, born to a native Floridian father, who in turn was born to a mother who'd moved down here from Indiana in 1908 (**** snowbird!), I concur. Florida has indeed come to suck.

And it will continue sucking until the invading locusts (i.e. complaining Yankees) who have swarmed here in the last 25 years turn tail and get out, dragging with them the corpse of a real-estate developer under one arm and the corpse of a state legislator under the other. Only then would we have HALF an chance. Even then, though, I'd not be optimistic.


(PS: I won't even get into what's become of Miami because, to us natives, Florida ends at the Broward-Dade county line.)

Et al California in the 50s, Oregon and Washington in the 70s, Montana and Idaho in the 90s, and Texas today. Today it's Yankees. In the 1600s it was the Dutch, French, and English to the Indians! In the 1500s the Spanish moved in to Florida (St. Augustine) and the rest of the "New World" and there went the neighborhood! Americans (Yankees plus) were invited to Texas in the 1830s and then ousted the, at that time rightful owner, Mexico. **** Yankees! **** immigrants! Let's just send all ourselves packing so things can get back to normal and there will be plenty buffalo for the locals!

Progress may not appear to be necessarily so to everyone - nor to their liking. Temper all things with moderation. Consider the middle path. There's good and bad in everything. Consider the yin and the yang! Be the example you want others to be and work on changing what you can to help make it better. We're all immigrants of one sort or another. We're all Americans! in my 19years(as of the 13th of this month)on this earth, i have noticed that this planet is plagued with stupid people. however, this is a free country so these people are entitled to their stupidity. the men and women that have died serving and protecting this country did so so that those "stupid people" could have the RIGHT to be stupid. i say leave them be. i deal with idiots everyday. does what i've said make their actions right? no, it doesn't, but they live in this country and are human beings so they should be granted the freedom to do as they please just so long as it doesn't become destructive. they will work themselves towards their own ends. i am not the judge hence i will not judge them.

After reading what seems to have become a rambling tale of how vile and corrupt the state of Florida has become, I have come to this conculsion: No matter where you go, who you're with, or where you live, you will NEVER find the perfect place. Period. Now, I don't want to sound like I'm comin' "off" on you, because I find your posts and topics very thoughtful and interesting. However, I really don't see the point in making a big fuss over the social standards of the entire state of Florida. I mean, I've lived in Indiana my entire life and although I don't care for certain cities and towns--or the people in them--I don't see the need to deface their reputations or where they live. As Sven mentioned before, if you don't like it down there, then for cryin' out loud, MOVE! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> I personally don't care for Ohio, but that's not to say that I'll post heated topics about my fellow countrymen, the Buckeyes. I would like to think that you have some sort of religious background, as I see a lot of your posts referring to Scripture. If this is the case, then maybe God has you there in that state to be a witness for Him. I don't want to sound 'churchy', but give that a thought. I don't like to see anyone in a sad situation, which is why I felt compelled to tag on my 2 cents worth.<img src="tongue.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
