Not a fan of Tanto but I might just have to pickup that Lum.

That Fluted Military is nice as well.

Cannot wait for the yo 2. That Knife is going to be epic. Dragonfly H1, Native 5 and Balance SS are all looking really good. Def going to get at least one of those 3.

Thanks for the pics.

Yes, If I remember correctly, Mr.Glesser did mention that the production Fluted Ti Military would come with the steel insert/lock bar stop,,,

Hi Wouter,

Great shots. Thanx much.

You can show the "Manbug", but the color for the scale won't be blue. We're planning a gray G-10 for the bolstered version, but we don't know yet if it will be smooth or peel-ply.

Hi Yab,

My bad. I introduced the model and said it was our first tip down wire, my meaning was in reference to the current wire that's held in with the barrel bolt. We've always been concerned about holding the wire in with the pivot bolt. This is our first venture into that fastening method.

The Meerkat wire was held in with screws to the scale.

Love the LUM Tanto. Just as it is.

Please keep the kind of clip in the pictures. Don't throw an hourglass clip on it.

Thanks for the pictures mr. blonde, they are amazing as always! :)
Im very happy to see that lum tanto folder, not so happy that Im not seeing a dodo... :(
But in the mean time that lil squeak looks like some fun! I just picked up a lava a couple months ago and I feel like the squeak would serve as a good back up blade just like my lava does. Uh oh lava you got some competition! :D

Haven't had time to check for the answer, but is the fluted military a sprint or limited production folder?

Thanks.

all milies with a Ti RIL have had the steel insert for some time now, only the the first batch of C36TI didn't have it.

Any rumors about Fluted Mili Des Horn or Squeak prices?

OT currently i EDC one nice Delica Blue and i find Delica FFG a 360° knife only little bit short when i cut bread.
Just this morning i handled a bit my military and my para 2 its a lot of time i don't use military, and para 2 never carried until now.
But one more time i confirmed to myself Military its the best knife i own..Simply perfect, and the classic military 3 screw point clip its the best one in all spyderco line.

Thanks. Too much outlay recently on knives, so have to wait a bit for this one. I don't know about anyone else, but the fluted millie is a MUST HAVE.

The Szabo looks awesome! It's hard to tell from the pictures, but is that steel at the base of the handle from the compression lock or from the blade? And if from the blade could it be used as a flipper?
The important thing was that I had an onion tied to my belt, which was the style at the time. You couldn't get white onions, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...

I believe that's a piece of the blade, I don't remember the Szabo folder being a flipper.

Spyderco 2011 Prototype – Junior

#200

Post by Mr Blonde »

This model is on a fast track to production. The concept model was only unveiled last year, and this year it’s a production prototype. It’s been my experience that most knives take about a year or two at least in the concept stage, before they become a production prototype. Dialex designed the knife to be the perfect knife for a new knife user. That explains the huge cutout in the handle, to provide a safe grip. I think a lot of knife users will appreciate that feature, not just newbies. The wide leaf shape blade looks like a nice slicer. This could be a nice camp folder.
