I'd go with the Dragonfly. I find it better suited for a wider range of EDC tasks.

For my daily tasks, I much prefer my Crickets. I could sing the praises of that little S curve blade all day. But I also have two Dragonfly's (versions 1 and 2), and I don't think you can go wrong with either. Like others have said, the D'fly has a more "standard" blade shape, but I've found myself using my D'fly wishing I had the Cricket... never the other way around. One thing to think about: how do you plan on carrying the knife you end up with? I like my SS Cricket clipless in the watch pocket, so when I want to clip the knife I'll carry my D'fly. Just something to consider. But again, you'll probably be really happy with either. And if we manage to convince you that getting both is an option you'll be even happier :D .

I have both and i would defiantly get the dragonfly. I do like the Cricket but i don't think it is as versatile of a blade and find myself not really using it much.

I'm going to have to say the Dragonfly. It is truly the emodiment of "Little Big Knife" in my opinion. The Cricket is better at certain tasks, but all around, I would take a D'fly over almost anything near its size for EDC.

@ JabFynger, I'll probablly just keep it un-clipped in my right pocket.

Thanks for all the awesome response guys! :) Seems like the Dfly has the upper hand for now but as some of you mentioned, the only rational thing to do is to get both ;)

One thing I wonder, whats your thoughts regarding frame lock versus back lock? Strength, easy to close etc.
Also, what difference in handling from the S and leaf shape blades could I expect (what are they better at)?

As far as locks go, properly made, just like Spyderco does it, you won't see a difference. Nor will you get them to fail on you in actual use. Ease of operation varies, if you're a righty you will most likely find the framelock easier to operate one handed. If you're lefty it will be a bit tricky.
Lockbacks are ambidextrous, some find them harder to operate one handed, personally I don't. Really it all comes down to personal preference. Some also prefer lockbacks due to good in-handle retention, but Spyderco's framelocks have a good detent so neither will come open in your pocket.

Both. Rather different knives given somewhat similar sizes.

I may be the only one who thinks so, but I'd get the FRN Dragonfly 2 and stay away from the g-10 version. Too heavy, not smooth opening, too rough on the pocket - just more expensive and not as nice. I've bought two and sold them soon thereafter each time.

I would definitely go with the Dragonfly. Fantastic knife and I would also say go with the G-10 model. I've heard polar bears are afraid of Green G-10.

Whatever you decide, pretty sure you'll end up owning both :D

One for each hand you see, keeps the polar bears away left and right :p
