S-L-E-E- ? What's sleep?

Post by vampyrewolf »

I have been awake, or at least semiconcious since saturday 0700hrs... it's now 0200hrs monday morning... thats what? 48hrs to monday 0700, minus 5hrs... <b>43</b>hrs so far, and counting... and only *1* pot of cappacino (a 12cupper with capp beans... not those little 1/4 cup machines)... took that sucker to work with me this morning, had it gone by 1100hrs sunday(started at 0900).

I'm beyond the point of being tired, but as soon as I get to a pillow, I'll be out. I'm rambling here and on BFC, and my spelling is getting worse. Going back every 5 words to fix it(still lucid enough to see the errors, not the pink bunnies). Speaking of which, the yellow elephant is knocking on my window again...

EDIT: more rambling, less posting lines...

It's quite surpising how much food the body doesn't need. I ate at 0030hrs friday night(saturday monring), a donut at 0900hrs saturday, baked lasange at 1500hrs saturday, a donut at 0700hrs sunday, a burger at 1300hrs today... and I'm not hungry... I'm delerious, but not hungry.

Also had a bad night. Sunday evening I spotted an auction of a C15 on Ebay. That and an Eagle Q ended around 4:00 AM my local time. I was tempted to set my clock but thought the better of it. But, without the clock set, I woke up completely awak at 3:40 AM... Go figure... Anyway, I didn't bid but the Eagle Q went for $180 (!) and the C15 for $91.

KP, I have done 4 days(96hrs) with only about an hr rest between meals(during someone elses class-teaching time)... thats 12hrs of sleep, streched over 4 days... 84hrs of conciousness without a good sleep.

Also, when I'm on field exersizes, or my 2 to 4 day biking trips... I don't know if you can call my chow "food"... parmesan cheese(big block, wrapped in a heavy cotton cloth), hardtack(pre civil-war rations, basically a big cracker, made with flour salt and water(standard but can be added to)), 1-2Lbs of jerky/day, and about 2L of water per day. The ideal stuff to toss in my bag and not have to worry about it going bad.

For going without meals, I beleive the limits for the human body(in good shape) are 7days without ANY food, 3days without any water.
I have done 5 days working on just jerky and cheese(cause I was too lazy to make anything to eat)... My friend has done a week with just BBQ chips and Coke. Grad weekend, we didn't feel like cooking, so we survived on pizza, smokies, coke, and Crown Royal...

And shepherds we shall be, for thee my lord for thee. Power hath decended forth from thy hand so our feet may swiftly carry out thy command. And we shall flow a river forth to thee and teaming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, Et Filii, Et Spiritus Sancti.

yeah, if you ever need a good jolt of energy, i recommend monster energy drink. suckers come in 16 ounce cans and pack about 2000mg of taurine. that's the stuff. anyway, have fun not sleeping. spoken like a true teen my friend.

I feel that I should warn you not to go to extremes when it comes to sleep. You'll pay for it later. Believe me. I know.
Vamp, as for sleep apnea that you mentioned on another post, it WILL get worse without treament. Take care guys, and be well.

morphius> it's the minor insomnia that gets annoying... no point trying to lay down for an hr nap during the afternoon when it takes 30minutes to fall asleep... The sleep apnea only takes affect if I can GET to sleep. I managed to get about 6hrs last night(sunday night). My uncle's really kicked in when he was working at the Potash Mine... Most of the people on the one side of our family have problems. I'm lucky to only have this. My sister already has Lupis(so far it's just the skin) at 21... can't give blood and they have to be careful with her to not cause spreading. She has a 2yr old kid...

KP> try doing sword drills to focus your mind on something else. I play with my scimitar... the thought of razor sharp metal going close my body is enough to think about. If you want a little less potential pain, try quarterstaff ones... only bruise yourself then.

Your words in that other post made me

break down & weep bitterly ; let me

tell you, from my time in the infantry,

( and those early American

revolutionaries <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>) that parmesan

cheese & "hard tack" would've been

a "blessing"<img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> You'd've made a ****

GOOD SOLDIER! My advise, however, is

STAY IN COLLEGE & be a "man of

letters" rather than a "killer of men"

'Nuff said <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

I was chosen as the Diplomat for my magewar game I played about 2yrs ago(spent 2yrs in it, and had to quit due to school). I have a way with words that few know. I was able to start confict or end it, by simply choosing my words carefully. I plan to get my education in Electrical Systems Engineering Tech, and then upgrade into Avionics... 3yrs of education for an 80K job.

It's not WHO you know, or WHAT you know... It's WHAT you know about WHO you know that matters.

Al, I know, games are not real... I was dealing with real people, but the actual fact is a LOT different.

I have no plans to join the forces, planning to stay civilian... both for security(both job and sanity) and pay(forces Avionics Techs only get 45-50K).

ah, that is most unfortunate. i am sorry to hear that. i can't say that i hate women. in my opinion they are the most beutiful beings on God's green earth. if i ever say i hate women... someone please hunt me down and slap me around for at least a good 5 minutes. perhaps you should procure a new <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>.... they tend to cheer one up. it worked for me (thanks again ATE <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>) and remember, time heals wounds and wallets.

take care my brokenhearted friend.
