Hope this is ok to share--I just found pics from SHOT 2011 of a Spyderco collaboration with Lion Steel, called the Lion Spy.

The circular thing? If you twist it when the blade is locked, it holds the lockbar in place. Also it keeps you from bending the lockbar too far
