I would be totally up for a sprint or a completely new run!
Though I wouldn't want to "ruin" such a classic with FRN/G10/CF, it has always had metal handles and so it should stay! It is after all THE first Spyderco knife. Steel upgrade is ok, I'm fine with VG10.
My preference would be SS, titanium would be ok but IMO it would just add cost.
Don't mess up a classic! :(

I 100% agree with you. Your right too, Ti would just make it more pricey. I would like a tip up clip however.

I'd be all for a 30th anniversary model.
$120-130 I consider affordable. Within last couple years I saw them even for less. FG Lum, which had the same materials, less expensive lock and box was sold by dealers around $110-120.
But I will be in for 30th anniversary model as well.

Most definately! Any handle material - it cries out for FRN, but slim chance of that. No fancyness, though - I'd like to accually use it. :)

- best wishes, Jazz.

I'm in for a ANY Worker in G-10, Carbom Fiber, or FRN.

Never had a worker. The spydie-addicition never hit me until the last couple years so I wasn't around when these knives were.

I'd be interested in picking one up! They have a very cool blade shape.
Too many Spydies to list!

Think it's safe to rule out FRN since it would require a brand new $40K mold, which would be hard to justify for a Sprint Run. On the other hand, if memory serves, the Standard shares the Worker's handle and, if so, G-10 would be feasible and probably CF as well. Of course aluminum or stainless would definitely work, as they've been done before.

Good to know and something of a relief. I would much prefer a worker in something dignified like SS or CF. I love the lightweight rigidity and texture of FRN but I just don't think a busy volcano pattern behooves it.

While I do own a few SS Spydies, I refuse to carry or use them. Nothing screams "not for hard use or descrete carry" quite like a bright shiny handled knife.

No offense, but a modern version (G10 or CF) of the Worker is the only one I would concider purchasing.

I would love to see another Worker. I think if it were to have G-10 scales, it should at least have nested steel liners. Of course, I would be happy to have stainless handles as well, as I've never had an issue using them.

Nested liners would be unlikely, as it would require new tooling for the liners and also increase labor costs by requiring the scales to be milled out to hold them. Full liners would be a much easier sell. The tooling should already exist, since both the G-10 and CF Harpy had one.

You're right Deacon, I'm not sure why I said nested liners. I guess I've been staring at the Military too much. I was thinking of skeletonized liners, not nested. I wouldn't think they would add too much to the cost.

They shouldn't add to the cost too much for skeletonized liners, just a few extra cuts on the laser (or waterjet).

Let's keep this thread going... the Worker needs another go-around for all of us that got into "real knives" too late. :D I'd love to put one to use.

- best wishes, Jazz.
