Ed-U-Cation for Stretch II CF??
I ordered a Stretch 2 from Amazon a few weeks ago and returned it because I thought it was used. It arrived without any paperwork from Spyderco and it had a weird oily substance on the blade near the pivot point, which I hadn't seen on my other Spyderco knives. I ordered from a different vender, for much less money on this particular knife, and was surprised to see it also didn't have any paperwork from Spyderco. Even the Dragonfly came with paperwork. Considering that the Stretch 2 has a story stemming from Sal himself, I'm really surprised!
My questions are: Is the Stretch 2 Carbon Fiber supposed to come with paperwork and if it is, would anyone be willing to send me/post a photo or PDF scan of the paperwork.
I'm not hung up on having a "real" copy of the paperwork, but I'd love to read what it says.

I have a couple of CF Stretches and, to the best of my knowledge, none of them had edge-u-cation pamphlets in the box. Neither do my FRN/VG-10 ones. The blue FRN/ZDP-189 version, on the other hand does. All were purchased from one of the most reliable dealers in the USA, so I believe whatever I received was whatever Spyderco shipped.

Thanks everyone for the info regarding the paperwork.
The oil at the pivot for on the first Stretch that I got was pretty messy and excessive. I haven't received that on any of the other knives I've gotten. Now I feel kinda bad for having returned it. Oh well, at least I returned it quickly and in the same condition as I'd received it.

I've received knives that showed no sign of having been lubricated and others where I felt the need to wash them immediately. The only time it's actually annoyed me was on a couple with G-10 handles where it wicked out around the pivot screw and left "bullseye" stains on the G-10, but even those came off.John_is_my_name wrote:Thanks everyone for the info regarding the paperwork.

FWIW, here's a photo of the text portion of the sheet that came with the FRN version...

Does anyone think there should be a section on the site where the Edge-U-Cation papers are posted in PDF format or is that a dumb idea? For those that bought a knife used, or second hand on a B/S/T forum the papers might have become lost, etc.
I guess one down side to doing this is that the folks at Spyderco seem to already be busy enough without piling more onto their plate.

Yep, especially given they occasionally get a bit behind on things most would consider more important, like adding new models to the site.Jay_Ev wrote:Does anyone think there should be a section on the site where the Edge-U-Cation papers are posted in PDF format or is that a dumb idea? The other "problem" I can see is that it would make the authenticity of the paperwork included with any Spyderco purchased on the secondary market suspect.
