Simple box knot. Mainly decorative, but helps in getting it out of the pocket. Looped around and knotted so I can take it off without taking the entire lanyard apart.

Most likely going to hook up a small light to it.

It's a Spyderco Barong by Ed Schempp and they are discontinued.

It may be mentioned somewhere but I'm not reading 78 pages to check so apologies is anyone is upset but check out the lanyards at http://www.survivalstraps.com and while there consider sending one of the care packages to a soldier as well. Really cool stuff and decent pricing and the gift to the troops also supports Wounded Warriors as well. Mine is on the way. See if yours can catch up.

I sometimes use cord locks with simple paracord loop lanyards, and I've added some turks head knots to these ITW Nexus cord locks, that have tie down slots in them. I used 0.9mm and 1.4mm nylon cord/mini blind string.

My daughter just started making these to sell to help pay for her competition dance team fees, so this is not my work. Shes 10 & I think shes doing a mighty fine job.
All Ive done as far as helping her is burn the ends. She said it hurt her fingers plus shes really doesnt need to be using a zippo anyway. If any of you guys that have been doing this along time that can give her any advice it is welcomed.

Thanks I hope you like them

I think she's doing professional-grade work, there. I'm pretty experienced at that, and I don't see any evident need for improvement. You both should be proud.

As for melting the ends: Yeah, that should continue to be done by you (although I'll bet that a daughter bright enough to make those lanyard could probably handle it just fine), but I strongly recommend using a jet-flame butane lighter instead of a Zippo. I love Zippos, but they are not ideal for melting paracord ends.

Tell us what the shackle/rivet/bolt device is! :D

I like the setup. Do you carry it loose in your pocket?

I asked the same question. I'm sure it's a screwdriver blade from a Victorinox Swiss Army Knife. Cool idea, but I can't wreck any of my SAK's.

- best wishes, Jazz.
