I have a manix 2 in CF which I just recently got and a manix 2 in cts-xhp so I cant really comment on the blue but the only noticeable differences in the two that I have are the weight and blade steel. S90V is pretty much cream of the crop in terms of folding knife steel imo. How much should you pay? What ever it's worth to you. I picked mine up two weeks ago for 210 shipped. which is really a steal. If you want you can email me at moonberrys123@yahoo.com and I can help you out. ;)

I recently got a CF Manix 2 for $200 on one of the buy/sell forums. They usually run between $200-$250. The blue Manix have been going in the $200 range lately too. There is an orange Manix 2 available to order now (with the same steel as the blue) for much less than a blue will probably cost you, if color isn't important.

It is not so much the color or the steel it is the sprint run collectors point of view that I want them. Is it not worth it for that. I have already ordered the orange and I am waiting for the GITD like the rest of the world. There is also one from stag arms that I want to get.

You might find a good deal if you keep an eye out. A blue M2 went for $155 on one of the BST forums just a week or so ago. I would've snatched it up if I'd seen it in time.

Tough decision indeed. Both are pretty rare: smurf = 500 pecies made and CF = 400 pecies. As Moonberrys said the s90v is pretty much cream of the crop in terms of blade material. The CF scales are also pretty rare but then again so is blue g10. Overall the CF is probably more rare based on its blade material, production numbers and CF scales. I own a smurf and I love it. It has a great fit and feel to it, grippy and ergonomic in hand. Im looking for a CF right now so if it was up to me I'd get the CF but if I didn't have either I guess my decision would be based on the price of each. Either way you can't go wrong get the one you like best. Good luck!!!

I just got the Blue M2 and now I am wondering if the CF is worth buying at the current sale prices of 275 to 300.

Depends on what color and steel and materials you like better.

For me it's no contest, black carbon fiber s90v

CF / S90V - awesome! :D That is quite a knife...I use mine, but if you a collector, the 400 count production is quite low for Spyderco...I'd consider 600 or less worth collecting - 400 is getting into quite hard to get territory. At 1,000 they are prevalent.

I tracked both down. I would say get the CF. Blue is a very pretty knife but the CF and S90V are very rare.

Both are great knives, I EDC both but the S90V is such a superior blade for the tasks I throw at it that it's hard to carry anything else. I have backups of both but have come to realize that I will need replaced before the CF S90v needs replaced.
