I have carried the Military as EDC in the past. I'll also add another vote to the "shrinking size" phenomenon that happens when you carry the Millie regularly.
If it wasn't for a size restriction where I currently work, I'd still be EDCing a Military for 80-90% of my days while rotating other models into that other 10-20%. Having that full 4in. blade length was always welcome to me. Like MCM, I was always wanting more blade length than less if I ever had an issue.
My First Millie - Too Big to EDC?
Yes, it's big and yet very portable.
My recommendation is: consider your surroundings and people around you. If you're in an office job, like I am, then definitely do not EDC the Military. You'll be frowned upon.
Myself, I bring it on some outdoor activities, also during bbqs, but I don't EDC it. In my environment, something non-threatening and max 3" long is a wiser choice, so I most often EDC an alox Soldier swiss army knife, yet I also EDC Kopa, Urban, Caly3, Kiwi, UKPK lightweight, a Klötzli Sailor, Böker small Exskelibur, Böker small Turbine and recently also a small Insingo Sebenza.

For me the Military was a little too big as an EDC. I still consider it to be a really great knife and it was reasonably comfortable to carry, but I found that I just didn't need that much blade and handle on a folder. I sold it to someone who was very enthused about getting it. I feel happy for the recipient :)
As time goes on I find myself going for a fixed blade when I need something large. I enjoy the solidity a FB provides.
More power to everyone else who feels different than than I. By all means enjoy and revel in your Millies :D

Sharkattack,
I have the answer for you. This is a secret that no one else has thought of. CARRY TWO KNIVES. This is a huge secret so don't tell anyone. :D Personally, I like a small knife in my pocket and a larger one (and tougher also) on my belt for the jobs that would be easier with a longer blade. If I am going into an environment where a big knife might draw negative attention I just slip it off my belt. I want a military but haven't bought one yet.

You'll never be sorry you bought the best. The military just works. Utility, EDC, Survival, etc. It's a knife that can make the difference in an emergency.
On carry: in jeans I actually forgot it was there a few times. It is very light and thin. At my white collar job I wear slacks. It is excellent in the pocket or IWB. IT TRULY JUST WORKS.

I ended up with a Manix 2. It just felt better in my hands and pockets. Thanks for all of the information though, I appreciate it.
