I haven't chimed in on this yet, so I want to say... I would definitely buy a sprint Ayoob!

I'm not opposed. Let's talk.

I wouldn't want to make it with the same aluminum we used. What would be the preferred materials?

G-10/FFG VG-10 is my vote.

I'm an admirer of Spyderco's designs. Using them is like immersing yourself in music or studying a painting in a museum. I buy some "fine" art but my preference is for usable art.

Go for the 10s: G-10 (not foliage green, however) and VG-10. S30V also would be excellent.

First choice, Polished Carbon Fiber to honor the design

Second choice, G-10 to actually use the design.

I would gladly buy three of each.

The only change I'd really like to see is G-10, preferably not in foliage green. I think black would suit the knife better.

G-10 is nice...maybe something a little different though...How 'bout a real dark blue or blue/black?
(The blue hue could be a nod to the fact the knife is designed by an officer of the law). It's a unique design so why not let this come through in the materials too? Naturally, i mean without narrowing down the demographic too much.
S30v is nice...Vg10 may be the way to go though.
-w/ screw construction of course and a beefy pivot...skeletonized liners and flow through design with polished stand offs and (ti?)clip. :)

Nice work Sal!
You are one of the reasons i never tire of dropping in on this forum. :)

I really like the idea of very dark blue colored G-10. I'd be happy with any of the usual steels. VG-10, S30V, S90V, etc.

Sal, you just made my day!

Considering the application of the knife, and the benefit it could provide to real ELU's, and not just AFI's, I'd say keep it relatively simple and functional.

I think the JD Smith sprint type of update is ideal.

Full flat ground VG10, 4 way pocket clip, and a black g10 handle; a grippy black Micarta would be even better but I'm not sure if that is available, that would keep it very suit and tie tactical.

Like the Matriarch, I think a sprint should be 600 PE, 600 SE. The C60 is one of the highest performing SE knives I've ever used, and aesthetically it is quite striking. It would also give me an excuse to buy two :D

The changes I would like to see G-10, black, and a 4-way clip.

I'd love to see VG10 FFG and any dark or neutral colored G10. A fully serrated version is a must have.

Now if I was dreaming that blade would be wrapped in Micarta.

.... mind you titanium's a good replacement for Aluminium ;)

As one who wants one significantly and equally or more significantly is feeling the economy I'd vote for whatever combination will make it more affordable while still being quality.

I'd buy the Ayoob if it were in G-10 and waved.
