Lava!!

Post by FissionMailed »

Is there any chance of the reintroduction of the Lava model with a sprint run or maybe even being put back into production? If no, what you guys think a reason price range for one would be? Thanks!

I sure hope to see a Lava sprint!

I LOVE mine!

A brand new in the box lava went for 142$ on the bay. Since the auction has ended, I do not see a problem posting the link http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... K:MEWAX:IT

About 2 months ago I got mine(a factory second, with no issues!) for 30 bucks!!!

I think $142 is a serious fluke. I've personally seen half a dozen sold for about $65-75 on candlepower forums NIB.

Chad or Sal could answer that question better than I but he's been making quite a few knives through Boker Plus lately. I would rather see a BIG lava made (3-3.5" blade) or one with a hawkbill or wharnie. What the heck, how about a trailing point? :)

There's been some discussion about a new sprint with G10 to make it lighter. Of course, Deacon correctly pointed out that it would require new tooling so that may not be likely - unless they can do aluminum. I would like a little longer blade and G10 or CF or just something lighter.

I agree that $142 is high. I bought two for less than $130 only a couple months ago. There was an EBay seller from Canada with great "buy it now" deals. IDK if that is still going.

How long ago did you see this? Few month ago they were everywhere in this range, not anymore.

Maybe some textured titanium scales.

Or just a run of the original stainless ones, they work fine.

I got 3 of them for 150ish from the same guy. I think we're talking about March-ish.

It was like in August. My brother sold 5 of them.

For a knife that's been discontinued for a while they sure languished at $70 or so for a while. Weird they would all but dry up. I guess that's what happened to the Adventura too (glad I got one).

I would like to see a few blade shapes on the lava. I really think a cricket/dodo-style recurve would be cool on there.

I loved my Lava, I would buy two if they would have g-10/FRN scales and I would buy four if they where some other colour than black :)

I was the one who paid the $142.50 from that eBay listing! I know it was probably a bit much but the stock of these things seems to be drying up..... and the $142 really didn't seem that high to me. I had done an extensive google search for a Lava a few months ago and found only 1. At the time i thought it to be so rare that i didn't even want to carry it :-/ So I figured I would look for a spare....call me crazy :) Yes I would love to see a sprint run with G-10 or a reverse S curve and serrations... but I would have to buy 2 LOL!

Got a deal on one. Very good shape with box for $50 shipped. I didn't know I could type that fast when I saw it posted for sale on a forum. Lol
