#1

Post by SmoothOne25 »

i see that jeff charged my wachovia account. its not till mid december when they come out so is it just me (for some reason i think it happend with the ti mili but it reversed a few days later and the money came back. kind of like a precaution to see if the money was available) or did everyone else who pre ordered one have the credit card they used charged? thanx guys!

He told me it's not actually a charge it's just checking to see if the funds are avialable, after a few weeks the credit card compay will see no money had been charged and it will go away :)

That's happened to me before, SpydieZ is right.

I want to pay via Paypal and Jeff asked me the way he's working it is to use your card then in the comment section of the order say you want to pay another way.

He said by doing it this way he can get the most accurate head count.

He said the card would not be officially charged or sent a paypal request until the knives were ready to ship.

Btw, I plan on taking a set of those orange scales and putting them on my all black one. Then I'll have a Manix with black scales with a FFG blade too.

Anyone else still waiting on a TI Military from CS? It's been a year since I pre-ordered now and still no knife. Anyone know what the production schedule is like? Maybe it's been slow due to knifeworks M4 run and redesigned lockbar?

Thanks a lot for the info. I'm tempted to skip but I also really want the knife! $188 is such a deal! Hopefully my place in line means it's my turn at the end of the month.

Pre-order process

#13

Post by Pneumothorax »

Just looked at CS site and Jeff has added an explanation on the pre-order process, so here it is just in case there are any more questions:

"PRE-ORDERS EXPLAINED:
We've had a few customers ask how we handle pre-orders, so we thought it a good idea to explain.
When you place your order our payment gateway (Authorize.net) communicates with your bank or credit card company to verify availability of funds (if you're using a debit card) or to verify credit availability (if your using a credit card). As we (Cutlery Shoppe) don't want your money until we're ready to send your order, we do not complete the transaction. After a few days (this varies from bank to bank) this "pre-authorization will disappear when they do not see the transaction completed. This releases the funds held (on debit cards) or credit availability (on credit cards).
When the knives arrive (Spyderco has quoted December delivery) we will charge the card you've provided. As we will be processing hundreds of orders, it will not be possible to contact you before processing. If the funds are not available and the card declines, we will e-mail you. If we don't hear back with an alternate card in a day or two, we'll cancel the order."

Anyone heard from Jeff at CS about shipping on these yet? I see some for sale on the bay now, with a price mark up of course.

I guess these are shipping to CC already? That eBay seller seems to have multiple CC#s, and always sells all their CC knives at a premium as soon as they're received.

I don't see a charge for the Manix, but I just checked and there is a charge for my G-10 Persian and Street Beat. I guess that means the G-10 Persian is back in stock and these are finally on their way!

Glad this thread got bumped. ordered mine just a few minutes ago. like the rest, the charge/hold was immediate and will drop off on Monday. I didn't see anything about a quantity remaining, though. I assume that since I was allowed to complete the purchase that there was at least 1 spot left.

I think Cosmo was referring to the 3 available from an eBay seller.
