A Loss For Words

#1

Post by Jimd »

This afternoon, my wife and I were driving past the cemetary where our baby son is buried. We decided to stop in to visit his grave; he's buried on top of my wife's dad (as in, his casket is buried atop her dad's).

As we walked up to the grave, we noticed that some demented son of a b***h had stolen our son's grave marker!!!!!!!!

The rage that gripped me was unreal. I wish the person would have been in our presence, but it's a good thing whomever took it wasn't there.

WTF. Honestly. These days, nothing is sacred. I mean, I'm not upset as much about the marker, but the fact that someone thought enough to desecrate our baby's grave.

I'm just at a loss for words. I'm not even enraged any more. It's more like a disgusted, dejected feeling. Losing a baby is difficult enough (it happened eleven years ago and it still hurts) without people mucking with the gravesite.

That's the saddest, most demented thing I've heard of in a long time. I don't know what to say except I hope the thief deserves every bad thing that can happen to him. Karma's a **** of a thing to ignore.

My sympathies... I can't begin to imagine how I would feel if someone messed with my mom's grave site...

That was a dispicable thing to do, as you have all ready said what kind of sick freak would want to do such a thing, it's hard to understand what some people do how their mind works!

That's just sick ... very sorry to hear that. Sadly, there's always morons out there who think of nobody but themselves ... I just hope they get to feel the full effects of their actions some day.

I can not even think of anything worthwhile to say...

I have witnessed first hand on many occasions how utterly thoughtless many people can be. This is yet another sick example of how wrong some people can be without even knowing it (they may have known their actions were wrong, but I bet they have no idea the depth of wrong they are living in) .
Thanks,

I'm not at a loss for words but it would be inappropriate to use the words that I have on a public forum.

I'm sorry for the loss of your son,

Very sorry to hear that Jim.

Metal?

If so, it's pretty common around here. Scrappers. In my last assignment the dog and I hunted them quite a bit.

This is unfortunate and absurd.

I feel somewhat bad for the people who did this. What position/condition would you have to be in to think that stealing a grave marker is a good idea? Hopefully this is not just considered a joke.

It is an odd coincidence that two related things are stolen from us.

Perhaps consider a replacement that will be difficult to remove even with power equipment.

My dear friend,

I'm speechless as well. I simply can't find words to describe the dissapointment and frustration I feel when I hear of such things.
I'll pray for the little one, may his sleep isn't disturbed.
As for the ones who detroyed the tombstone all I can say is "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”

As a Father and a Grandfather I can't begin to imagine how you feel. I send you a prayer of strength to your and your family to endure this additional pain.

As for the thief, I know all will be judged on the appointed day, but I do wish them an expedited appointment.

I like the idea of it being permanent enough that power equipment could not remove it. However, I was thinking along the lines of a pressure-release trigger device.

My wife and I talked about it, and we suspect it may be some family members who have a grudge against us. Or simply some drooling idiots whom I can't figure out why they'd do something like this.

Jim, so sorry this happened.

It's up to the authorities and those responsible for the cemetary to handle this now. In the meanwhile, it's best for you and your wife to do what you can to restore the honor of the site for both your child and father-in-law.

The things I think should be done to them aren't for public discussion. You have my sincere condolences on your loss.
