What holes in your pockets ?

#1

Post by Philip357 »

Knives with holes I mean ... ; most of them <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> (offcourse !)

Which ones would you pick for EDC ?

(no, I am not stuffing them all at once in my pockets)

On my keyring I already have a ladybug (and Photon 2).

I put in a few classes , so in each class there are choices offcourse (eg besides the slotted navigator I also have 2 plain G10 and a plain Meerkat etc); I just wanted to see for which size/style of knive you guys/ladies opt :

- practical small : Navigator

- stubby, classy and small : Mouse

- tiny + dressy : handmade

- good all use, a bit large/wide : Calypso jr

- slender : Benchmade (could have been Centofante Sm)

- large : diving knife (I did not want to put the obvious Military, Shabaria, Centofante Lg)

- neck : La Griffe Perrin

- bread-butter-jam-knife : Q <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

- alternative looks : Outdoor Edge Impulse

Normally I end up with my Navigator or Meerkat in my pocket ...

Philip

I use a Gunting for EDC! It's in the right front pocket or in a Skunkworks sheath on the right hip. A Rescue 93mm is often in the left front pocket. A smaller knife, often a Kiwi or Jester, rides deep in a pocket, for utility. A Civilian sometimes goes along, hidden, for high-risk situations. A Harpy is usually somewhere nearby, and in the console of my Jeep, an old, battered Military is ready for heavy utility. An older Rescue rides in a pocket of an "emergency" bag at work. While bicycling at night, a LaGriffe rides on a neck chain, in the open. These are normal, everyday knives, and I rarely have more than 2 or 3 on my person at any one time.

Classy smallish- Mouse
Small formal- Case Russlock, red bone
Overall, wide- Dyad Sr.
Slim- Case Lg. Copperlock
Large- Endura
Neck- Already have a bag on shoulders, don't need or want any more.
B,B & J- Case trapper 3254
Alternative- Native

4 <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>s, 4 non-<img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>s, though the quality is nearly as good. <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> I guess the fact that 5 days of 7 I'm at Uni has something to do with it. <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Lately it's among these for my daily carry:

Starmate - plain edge
Wegner - combination edge
Wegner Jr. - combination edge (Thanks Jeff)
G-10 Harpy - (once again, thanks to J Smith.)
stainless Police - plain edge
G-10 Police - plain edge
Delica FRN - plain edge

I also use a plain edged Cricket as my everyday work knife, where it stays clipped into the breast pocket of my hospital lab coat.

I would go with the Calypso Jr. for a primary, and the Navigator for a back up. RKBA!
