Why is Safety Orange on so few blades and mostly Slip-Its

I would kill for a Manix in safety orange. I'd also buy a delica with G10 with FFG if it were orange. I love the orange handled blades, much more socially acceptable in the workplace.

I plan on RIT dying a pink one to make it orange. I'm still not sure how G-10 will take the dye but it might be a good weekend project.

There are only 2 slipjoint knives that come in orange: the UK Penknife and Urban. It's just that the UK Penknife has so many variations!

As for me, I'd love to see the new UKPK in orange as well. I personally think the orange really compliments the texture of the knife. Here's a mockup I did not too long ago:

Would it be possible for Spyderco to sell different colors of G10 handles for already made models? It seems like this would be a pretty easy thing to do. Obviously there might be some warranty warnings/issues, but it'd be awesome to have some cheap color options!

Either way, Orange for any model, count me in!

Know it's not the answer you're looking for, but given the number of color options Spyderco provides for us, the most logical reason that one is not offered would be concern it may not sell well. A color that sells acceptably well on a SlipIt, rescue knife, and occasional Sprint Run may not do so on a more mainstream model in regular production. I know that, even though from a purely logical POV orange is easier to find if misplaced, and probably perceived as less threatening by NKP's, from an esthetic POV it's pretty far down on my list of acceptable colors.

I would love an orange Endura G10, and an Endura4 with orange frn. I've seen some sights that can make custom g10 scales for production knives, but it wouldnt be the same, I like to keep my Spydies original.

This only deepens my thought that this will happen...In my quest for a particular custom run done by us, I was interested in something with the orange, only to get denied because it would "conflict with another similar knife" to come...
