Nothing to show really, but internal mods that make operation PERFECT.

It's hard to take a pic of these without taking knife apart (action is perfectly butter smooth right now, so I am not taking it apart).
1) increased detente strength by removing metal from cavity on blade and altering shape of compression lock tang - keeps knife closed TIGHTLY the way I like it but once the initial effort goes past the detente cavity, the action is like BUTTAH!




2) grind down knuckle ripping corner (too many 'ouchies' on that)

Perhaps this is not often thought of as a mod, but I figured that this qualified as a pretty radical change to the knife, so here ya go...

I removed a considerable amount of ZDP-189 stock that was just taking up space around my edge. It cuts a little better now

Thanks, that is what I am working on now (figuring out how delicate it is).

Obviously when you thin out the edge you give something up, but you also gain something...so far it is a good trade (for what I am using it to do)!

I sharpened a paring knife up similarily years ago and it is an awesome cutter (like you say - for what you're using it for). For veggies, etc. it's great, but I tried to cut a toothpick with it once and rolled the edge. Of course it is some cheaper steel (not ZDP189) and the edge was for softer stuff. Learned my lesson on edge geometry right quick like there. :p I generally prefer thinner edges. Well, enough babbling.

Thanks. I just got done re-doing it and cleaning it up a bit. (I did some testing with it and dulled it a bit). It is now polished much better. Easily the best slicer/push cutter I have ever carried.

I got a black Salt 1 to go with my yellow and made it pointy, and for the third time made the Pacific Salt more pointy. Now I'm satisfied with it.

Great work Jazz!

I need to get back to my Salts and spruce them up a bit.

Lately I have been tinkering with the ZDP insanity. I took my Stretch down so far into the darkness I can not even get it to show up in photos LOL. The bevel just sort of blends into the grind.

Currently surviving at 8 degrees inclusive with no micro bevel. I'll not be chopping with this blade LOL.
